Love the way that Tweety and Dobbs are parroting the Repuke talking point of the night.

"Let's move on from all this talk of Vietnam. Who cares about that old stuff?" <---- Tweety & Dobbs

Guess they got their phone all from the White House.

NOT a coincidence, I'd say.

1. Yeah, Dobbs does the "principled" thing...
Tells John King that he has had the last word about Bush & Kerry's experiences 35 years ago. Says he will not mention the Vietnam era again on his program before the election.

Now that the hammer is coming down on his "boy" that's the principled thing to do. Why didn't he have that attitude when the Boatie's crap was out?

14. I think you're wrong about Dobbs. He's been great for months.
We were all saying the same thing for the last few weeks...why all this stuff about 35 years ago. I understand, now that there's an ad coming from our side, we all want the story to go on, but you are picking on Dobbs without cause. He's one of a very few who is a credible media guy, and has been beating his guests up for months about outsourcing, and other topics that make no sense. Maybe he's telling it like it really is! There should never have been all this discussion about 35 years ago.

26. Exactly
People here have been saying "Let it go" until now...you don't get to have it both ways. Dobbs is one of the few people on the news networks that I can even watch anymore.

2. Wow, that is such a coincidence.
Just as the provably-false slanders against Kerry's service have played out every last bit of effectiveness over three weeks of media focus - right when Bush's real dereliction of duty becomes the issue -suddenly it's wrong, wrong, wrong to be talking about this stuff.

Huh.

Remember those Smear-Boaters that you should have kicked out your studio the second they admitted they weren't eyewitnesses? You let them have the run of your studio for nearly two weeks. Are you that niave, or were you aiding and abetting the Kerry smear in exchange of corporate media-friendly legislation from the Bush White House? From Rove's lips to your ears?

7. It's not about Vietnam

It's about the lies and coverups that Shrub uses to try and escape his past and take responsibility for his actions, past and present.

reintroduced it, eh?

I mean isn't that what the Pubes said about Kerry talking about his own military service. Kerry opened the door by putting it in his ads?

Well Bush told lies about 4 hears ago. Statute of limitations hasn't run out yet.

12. Well, if nothing else, this will shut up the Swift POWS and the other
Kerry-bashing Bushco had planned for Sept.-Oct. They were planning on putting out more trash on Kerry's anti-war activities. Maybe all that is neutralized now that they want to call a truce.

24. I agree-it's enough to neutralize them.
Team Kerry can still bring up Kerry's service or Bush's lack there of whenever they want- 'cause it's the truth.

13. Don't raise your expectations too high. Between the two of them at the
present and probably into the future - Dobbs is only good for his outsourcing stance. That's all I would expect from them. No disappoints.

16. A lot of America feels that way.
I was talking to a regular Joe in Salt Lake City today (I'm traveling on business). Politics came up, and this guy is a natural Democrat constituent. His comment was that he'd sure like to hear more about the future, Kerry's plans for the future, than about Vietnam.

I'm all for going after Smirk big time, TANG and all, but this is just an observation from one member of the voting public.

We ought to keep it in mind.

18. Fine. Let's move on......to Senator Graham's information
about the traitorous behavior of the Bush White House in 2004. It doesn't matter where we hit the shrub. He has so many weaknesses, all we need is for the press to pay attention to any ONE of them and we will start to get the truth out, bit by bit.
