Kerry calls Cheney's remarks outrageous and shameful
<WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrat John Kerry sought to link the Iraq war to U.S. economic woes Wednesday, calling President George W. Bush's move against Baghdad a "catastrophic choice" that so far has drained $200 billion US in needed resources at home.

At the same time, Democrats intensified their criticism of Vice-President Dick Cheney for suggesting a Kerry victory in the election could provoke another terrorist attack on the United States. "It's wrong and it's un-American," said Kerry's running mate John Edwards.

The Democrat called on Bush to renounce Cheney's comments.

Kerry responded hours later after an appearance in Minneapolis, saying the comment shows Bush and Cheney will say anything and do anything to win the election.

"It is outrageous and shameful to make the war on terror an instrument of their politics in this race," Kerry said in an interview with a CBS-affiliated television station. "I defended this country when I was a young man, and they chose not to. And I will defend this country as president of the United States. Let that be clear."

1. OOHHH Thats what he meant
I thought when Cheney implied there would be a terror attack if he and Bush were not re-elected, I just thought he meant he'd go back to trading with the enemy again like he did with the Halliburton-Iraq deals.

2. I figured he was making an offer...
Perhaps Cheny was suggesting that, as a lame duck administration, he'd supervise the sending of diplomatic passports to members of Al-Qaida and would offer to fly them here on an Halliburton private jet.

Seriously, if he has some kind of intelligence pointing to an attack, he needs to come out with it. Else he is trying to do the same things people who use terror tactics are doing: Control people through fear.

He was so successful in getting 1/2 of america to believe
Iraq = Al Qeada

I guess he figures his next step is to equate Democrats to Al Qaeda--

Sad part of my statement -- considering the ads the GOP ran against Daschle and Clealand .... I find my sarcasm to ring with more truth han sarcasm.

3. I'm surprised he didn't come right out and say GOD told him
to tell the masses they better vote for Bush/Cheny or else Hurricane Frances will seem like a mere thunderstorm compared to what He'd have in store for us were we to elect a "coastal, secular president"!

4. But Cheney will call off the terrorist attack if Bush is elected.
Conan O'Brien said this on his show, not me.
