Express Lane to Heaven.................
Mods: I wasn't sure if this post belonged here - if it doesn't, please move it.

About a month ago, I heard this interesting call on C-Span.

An older female caller got through and stated that she had had an abortion when she was much younger. She stated that upon discovering she was pregnant, she carefully considered her situation and although it was a difficult decision to make, she made the best possible decision she could make for herself at the time.

She also when on to state that she couldn't understand why the Christian Pro-Lifers were so against abortion. After all, by her reasoning and the reasoning of most Christian religions, every baby was an innocent (without sin) and innocent souls go to heaven. Therefore, when a woman has an abortion, she's putting that baby's soul in the "Express Lane to Heaven"(my words) and Christians everywhere should be happy that another soul was going to heaven. (She wasn't trying to be funny, she was sincere.)

I had never looked at it that way before and it gave me a lot to think about. What do you think?

1. I've thought about that "express lane" argument before.
It sounds pretty compelling. Of course, your words wrap-up the sentiment better than I ever could.

Still, by Christian logic, would an aborted soul be free of original sin because of Jesus supposedly? And then, since that soul had no more sins on its record, it'd get into heaven easily, right?

Any theology scholars awake?

2. I think it depends on how you look at it. My opinion about the Christian
Moral right is if you abort then who will grow up to fight their wars. I know that is harsh and I don't claim it to be mine just that the truth even if they don't think it it is a fact of life. Babies are important young men and women are indespensable.

3. Whatever gets you through the night
IMO abortion is awful. But I wouldn't think of imposing my views on anyone else.
