2. For one thing..
Didn't he use Harvard as his home address long after he had graduated and left Harvard? I think this was an attempt to cover up the fact that he had never signed up in MA to fulfill his duty.

3. Could we have a little more detail
When did Moran say this?
What show was it on?
What are the implications?

4. Killian's "Memo to File", Subject: CYA
Edited on Thu Sep-09-04 06:48 AM by npincus
http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/BushGuardaugust18.pdf

Bush's squadron Commandaer, Jerry Killian, writes in his memo, titled 'CYA' that he's being pressured by higher-ups to give Bush a favorable yearly evaluation, to sugarcoat his review. In the memo he say's he will "backdate" the evaluation but will not rate.

Memo is dated August 18, 1973 (link above).

Terry Moran was reporting for ABC's GMA- I was flipping channels to see coverage of this on the morning shows. Carville and Tucker Eskew had a debate on The Today Show- Carville KICKED ASS.

9. Carville
2 quotes below kindly recorded by another DUer:

"Tell your boy to get out of Dick Cheney's lap and to come debate John Kerry."

"If your boy honestly believes that Iraq is going well and that most people's incomes are improving and that health care is affordable, then go ahead and run on that because John Kerry knows the truth and will speak it".

I don't remember quotes myself, but Carville was hammering Bush on not wanting to debate Kerry, and agreeing with Eskew that the Republicans are right: if you are satisfied with the way things are going (rapidly reciting the laundry list of Bush era-horrors) then you should vote for Bush, but if you want to change the direction of the country, then vote for Kerry.

Of course, Carville's rapid-fire, smiling, confident jabbing delivery as only he can do (no-one can squeeze more messgaes into tiny time allotments) was fantastic.

11. ... and another thing about Carville
Edited on Thu Sep-09-04 07:03 AM by npincus
he pissed off Tucker Eskew bigtime!

Eskew said something like "Don't call me "boy"" to Carville (who WAS calling him "boy"- even referred to him as "young"- ha ha).

When the interview came to a close, Carville was grinning from ear to ear and Eskew looked positively grim!

...and he is personally considerate: he responded to a recent email of mine (unsolicited advice, naturally)- it was brief, but kind.
