Our system of electing good leaders to the top posts gets subverted whenever Deception is used successfully in a major campaign, the people should be able to filter lies from truth.

Are we able to reach that Level in time??? The Level of being able to discern BS from Truth?? Or, are we Nation of Suckers?


Kerry will come out of this yet. Bush has too much to hide and much time is left to reveal the weaknesses he represents. Kerry is more of a Man than Bush any day in the week. There is no comparison for gods sake.

But the larger problem remains. Stories are judged not on whether they are accurate or not, but whether they fit a particular political bias. You see a little of that on our side of the fence (more than I like, truthfully), but it's grown into an obsession on the conservative side of fence. But if fitting an ideology is the measure of truth, how doesn't that hurt democracy?
