voting residency question
If a student going to college in a swing state votes in that state instead of their home state (Texas), how will this affect their residency in Texas for, say, college enrollment in Texas at some future date?

3. I don't think it will really matter.
No one really goes and checks voter registration records to see if you've gained or lost residency for college tuition purposes. In fact, most states specifically state that even though you may live there four years or more while attending college, you do not gain or lose residency. In short, as a college student, your legal residence is the state you graduated from high school in, and/or the one your parents live in. If they move midway through your college career I don't know what happens.

Ask a school financial aid officer. They'll know.

4. virginia is not allowing college students vote in this state...they must
vote in their home state....

now if they got a drivers license here 30 days before deadline and registered by oct 2, with the intention of making virginia their home state....that is probably different.....

you can go to your state government site or city site and they should have the information on the web site...the one I am in has a way to download a absentee ballot request, which is then mailed in to them and you will then receive a ballot back...

or you can go to the DMV and vote or municipal center after oct 18 and up until oct 30 to vote...in person....the witness will be the employee of the city...
