Responding to the forgery is a classic mistake... Blow it off and attack
Forget the damn forgery or non forgery. Some documentation professionals will handle it. Instead use the debate of forgery to bring up forged documents that led Bush to say those famous 16 words about yellowcake uranium. Don't respond to this stuff. That is Kerry's biggest weakness.

It's like Bush and Kerry are neighbors. Bush dumps a pile of shit in Kerry's yard. Kerry and the DU work to clean up the shit while Bush dumps more shit in our yard. Instead of cleaning up the shit, Kerry should be try to dump a larger amount of shit into Bush's yard. By November 2nd, the hope is that Bush will have such a large pile of shit in his own yard that any pile of shit in ours will pale in comparison to what Bush has.

1. Where'd the new WH docs come from?
That should be the topic of discussion. You're absolutely right, we always spend way too much time defending their lies instead of turning the focus to the stuff they're trying to deflect attention away from. DU falls into the same trap too, I have to say.

10. They were all released
months ago. That's what the WH said last spring. So where'd these new ones come from? The ones the WH released, not the CBS docs. We're always following them around on wild goose chases.

4. Precisely, more or less made this point previously...
When we are on the defensive, they are winning. Dems will spend a week trying to prove the veracity of documents that have been vetted by one of the finest news organizations in the country. And why? Because fucking Drudge said they might be forged! And while we're defending this shit, and trying to insulate Kerry from the appearance of impropriety the Repubs have created, Bush will go traipsing around the swing states saying everything's going swimmingly.

12. Democrats should plaster yellowcake all over the place
as long as we are talking about forged documents. Let Republicans respond to that while we talk about Bush turning the corner on a tricycle and Kerry turning the corner on a motorcycle.

9. None of that matters What matters is why is Bush afraid to tell the truth?
This is just another event in a pattern of lies and deceit that's been perpetrated by Bush and all of his closest advisors.

Why is he afraid to come clean with the American people? I thought he was supposed to be on our side! What on earth can he be hiding behind all that secrecy? I just can't trust him, and that's the bottom line.

16. Yea, who cares.
I am much more interested in whether or not the Gospel of Mary Magdalene is a "forgery" than this stuff!

Let's quit scattering like quail at the least little disturbance and go about our business.

17. Not just go about our business, but use it for our own gain
I really think we can change the direction of mud slinging by using the forgery debate to bring up the yellowcake forgery lie. That got a great deal of media time and made many people angry at Bush. If we can bring up those memories again, the Bush team might feel necessary to reply and then we have them on the defensive.

18. Maybe,
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 03:36 AM by necso
but I am not sure that we can use it our advantage.

The ball is in CBS's court.

I am for leaving it there.

How CBS reacts will tell us a lot about what is really going on in this country.

And I don't like two edged swords, because sometimes I get sloppy -- and with a single blade I have a lot less chance of cutting myself.

Produce witnesses. Get them on TV.

We have to ignore the obsfucation put out by the right wing spin machine and keep attacking.

21. Excatly!
We have a huge caravan of trucks to dump into Bush's backyard, but instead we are bringing in cleaning crews to clean up the little mess that we happen to have?! Start dumping on Bush!

The seeds of doubt and disgust have been planted!

Let the bastards implode.
