1. I don't like it at all

If these things are forged, it's clear that Rove or his disciples are behind it, for the usual reasons. And if they're not forged, it's equally clear that this is Rove's clever way to obscure the issue and smear Kerry, with the slavish complicity of the media.

In any case, it just shows how easily the White House controls the message that people get. And it's just one more way for Bush to run out the clock re. important issues until Election Day.

thereby putting the thought of disrediting them in the public forum and changing the subject from the content and implications of the documents themselves.

Whatever else you think about the ethical barenness of the contemporary Rethuglican Party, they - and especially Karl - know how to play the game. Plus, they have the advantage of not having to stick to the truth.
