The technique of infamy
"The technique of infamy is to start two lies at once
and set people arguing which one is true." - Ezra Pound

Not endorsing Ezra just saying...

It comes to mind here and now.

2. Brilliant man, flawed to the bone
Ezra Pound is well worth reading, and well worth studying as a negative example.

For the uninitiated, Pound was a tremendous thinker and poet who fell for the Fascist program of lies, became a mouthpiece for Il Duce Mussolini, and eventually died in St. Elizabeth mental hospital, a mad pariah pitied and scorned by civilized men and women.
