Forgeries? Look at other documents from this time and compare..
I am reading a lot here about how it must be a forgery because somehow these memo's and these fonts did not exist at the time. As if the memo could not have looked the way it did at that time. So, curious as I am, I looked for other memo's, whose authenticity is not challenged. Say, official naval records, and low and behold I found documents of memo by and for Kerry's service and in my opinion it is clear that a memo like Killian's certainly was producible in the 70's The idea that the technology did not exist then to create such a document is ridiculous.

Look for your self. Click the link and scroll down to the PDF's such as Kerry's request for Swift boat service. Virtually identicle look and these are from the naval record. Or for an example of what a officers memo might look like, try the one entitles "Recommendations for Next". You will see that it is very similar to the memos by Killian. Clearly officers had the technology to create such a document. Drudge is crazy.

1. I sure this has been answered before but,
Where did CBS get these memos? Didn't the White House provide them?

Having a rough week and my brain is mush.

4. I don't know where CBS got the memos, but the Bush WH also
released the memos that they got from the CBS. Isn't their passing them on an acknowledgment that they the accounts contained within are true. Would seem kind of silly for the WH to pass them on as authentic when they have Bush there who can tell them whether or not the memos reflect the truth. If I were Bush and I saw these and knew that they were untrue, I would cry foul myself rather than pass them on as real. The only other possibility is that he was so screwed up at the time, as Kitty Kelley's book suggests, that he doesn't remember and that in itself says something.

6. Some people say...
I'm starting to sound like Faux News - that Rove may have something to do with the release of forged documents.

There is still the Boston Globe report which came out before the 60 Minutes II story which didn't rely on the documents.

5. Now there you go. Looks pretty much like something I could type
up in my computer now. The idea that computers are producing something totally different than what was possible then is silly.
