Ignore the Polls
Dem Strategist was right, and I'm reposting this:

Polls -IGNORE THEM

There are dozens of reasons why you should ignore polls.

For one, how much did the primary polls tell you about Kerry's chances?

For two, polls are the media's best tool to spin Kerry (as in, a four point lead is a "slight" lead for Kerry or "within the margin of error," whereas a three point lead for Bush is an "edge" or an "advantage.") Why play into the media's game?

For three, from a strategic perspective, and taking into account voter psychology, media spin, and the nature of human nature, would you rather Kerry be ahead or behind at this point?

For four, polls are a distraction - there's a job to do and polls don't change that job. The job is to focus, focus, focus, and win.

2. I agree......look at the pattern
Bushes poll numbers have dropped every month of his presidency except 2. WHen 911 hit and when he attacked Iraq. This bounce will not last. Kerry will hammer away on the things that matter like health care and the economy and Bush will attack Kerry.

5. Also, right now, with the 9/11 anniversary, TV is all terror, all the time
This makes me want to vote Kerry all the quicker, but many frightened Americans are having difficulty committing to a new candidate at the moment.

A week from now, the 9/11 anniversary will be altogether gone from the news cycle, and with Kerry being as aggressive has he is on the far turn and home stretch, there is ample time to immerse the voters in the **real** issues, and for Kerry to engage them in a more personal and direct manner.

Absolutely no need to panic or even to feel down right now.
