How can I refute this? Is George Mason funded by Scaife & the gang?

Study Group: Kerry Getting Good Press
Only On Fox News Does Bush Do Better, It Says

September 10, 2004
By LIZ HALLORAN, Courant Staff Writer

WASHINGTON -- A media watchdog group that has been analyzing presidential campaign coverage since 1988 says in a study released Thursday that Democrat John Kerry has received the most sustained positive TV network news and weekly magazine coverage it has ever recorded.

"John Kerry has gotten extremely good press - not only compared to George Bush, but to any other candidate" in previous races reviewed by the organization, said S. Robert Lichter, president of the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, which conducted the study.

The arguments of conservatives that "liberals get better press," Lichter said, "seem to be validated in particular cases by these findings."

The anomaly was Fox News which, in a smaller, separate study by the center, aired five times more "negative" evaluations of Kerry than it did of President Bush. But Fox also ran as many negative evaluations of Bush as the major networks, the study found.

1. It isn't. He isn't.
http://www.disinfopedia.org/wiki.phtml?title=Center_for_Media_and_Public_Affairs

"On its website, CMPA claims to be politically neutral: "The Center for Media and Public Affairs (CMPA) is a nonpartisan research and educational organization which conducts scientific studies of the news and entertainment media. CMPA election studies have played a major role in the ongoing debate over improving the election process." <1>

However, as shown below, CMPA's claim to be non-partisan is incompatible with the fact that nearly all its funding comes from conservative foundations. "

Lots more at link.

4. Is that the media group Brent Bozell is connected to?
I know that he has one, and they also claim to be non-partisan, but they aren't at all.

5. my original thought was...
After figuring the source was biased (and, thanks to the link above, I emailed the article writer & sent in a general comment), my other thought was that there is just so much negative about Bush out there that even a neutral look at him has to bring a lot of the bad stuff up...
