The media has decided that Bush will be re-elected. Seems
we don't have a say. They decide what is important, what needs to be discussed and what is trivial. Good-bye democracy; it was nice while it lasted.

2. Remember, just about 9 months ago Kerry was toast, according to the media.
Kerry was polling in teens and single digits in many primary states and it was Dean's to lose - all before a single vote was cast. Sound familiar?

3. the media will lose
these same people also decided Clinton would be removed from office.

When Clinton survived the media's initial Monica onslaught, and polls showed his approval ratings increased, Cokie Roberts informed us that "the public is always a little behind the media." Well, we stayed "behind" for good.

4. Or maybe....
the media is part of a plan to pacify bush. Let him think that he is winning so as to keep us (the American people) safe until after the election.

6. we had a great run
brief, but wonderful. I believe that when the definitive history of the fall of the US is written, a great deal of blame will be placed on the media. They simply refuse to report objectively, and their abdication of their responsibility has coincided with the sinking of our nation into fascism.

It will be interesting to see how the very end develops. I hope to be watching it from a safe distance. The economic collapse is right around the corner, then I fear bombs will fall on the US. The saddest part is that the backbone of America - the middle-Americans and working class folk - have been so deluded by the media and won't even know what's happening. And they will be the ones doing the fighting when it comes down to it.

My only hope is that the entire media brothel, from Limpballs right on down to the lowliest grunt at CNN who refused to speak up, have a special place reserved in hell.

8. The question will be...
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 09:15 AM by WillW
What did the citizenry do to stop it?

What does victory look like and how do we get there? These are our most pressing questions. I believe victory will have to come from the ground up and operate in exactly the same way as the union movement in the first half of the 20th cent. I don't think voting will have as much to do with our victory as direct action and challenging the powers that have usurped our nation. I think it will be a fight, and not just one of words in some polite college debating hall.

Get ready.. we'll either be lulled into consumer/marketing induced complacency, or we are going to get bruised and bloodied as we take it all back.

Just my opinion.

7. I've noticed this too...
Flipping through the cable news shows the other day, I noticed that all of the talking heads were talking about Bush's insurmountable momentum. Dennis "whore-king" Miller said, and I quote, "it's over now" discussing Bush's lead in the race for the Presidency. MSNGOP and CNN talking heads were essentially saying the same thing.
