Until now, I've never had such a dim view of the media
This morning, I checked both MSNBC and CNN's webpages to see what they had to say about the Bush National Guard documents. Both of them are using an AP story to call into question the authenticity of the documents.

In both of the stories, the "th" in the 111th squadron is used as evidence of a forgery. And yet as Walt Starr pointed out, even the documents that Bush used to attempt to prove his time in the Guard had some superscripted "th's".

The so-called media seems unable to do any research. This is so incredibly frustrating- they are taking an expert's word that the ability to proportional space and to superscript and to have a Times New Roman-like font were not possible back in the early 70's.

I've never used the Media Blaster before, but I'm assuming that it would be useful in situations like this? There is a part of me that still believes that the American people can have an effect on the media. There is now a bigger part of me that is losing hope in the media.

2. welcome aboard
maybe you are too young to remember when the media wasn't a GOP echo chamber. For those who remember Woodward & Bernstein & Cronkite, the patheticness of the media has been evident for a looooooong time.

5. Word-- this lazy journalism is so frustrating.
I think journalists today are too precious to stay up late hours doing actual investigative work--why do that when they can just get their story from AP?

They're asleep on the job and just going through the motions.
It's disgusting.

Murdoch GE and Time Warner = involves researching over drinks or breakfast with each other. Once in awhile they open an office file to dig for something. Why investigate when it is all propaganda and stupid-dangerous entertainment? They don't want to know the truth.

There is a new book out written by the key person involved in setting up the right wing media takeover - last name Viguerie? They started this 40 years ago and it got a really big kick in backing and momentum about 15-20 years ago.

Buy the DVD Outfoxed or see if it's coming to your town if you have a non-mega corporate theater. It's great fun to watch it in a theater or with a group of people. Because you are going to yell in protest or pain about the truth of what you are witnessing.

There is excellent first hand accounts by former FOX employees and media watchers and experts.

Always remember this - they groomed these people formally. Whenever you can = do not call them journalists.

CNN NBCs FOX equals CPN = Corporate Propaganda Networks. NPR and PBS are lagging, but catching up (even though they claim to be publicly owned).

7. It's not lazy journalism but rather intentional propaganda

They lie to your face without missing a beat and it is
done with a goal in mind, i.e. to control what you think.

In 48hrs. the Bush Campaign has totally neutralized the facts surrounding his obvious AWOL for the N.G.

The media is cowed.
