then I think Bush is off the hook on this whole TANG/Alabama National Guard issue....even though there is plenty of other evidence from documents even released by the WH and Pentagon that clearly show Bush took off to Alabama without permission from his commander and then skipped out on the Alabama Guard and then went further and never showed up for Guard duty in Masssachusetts like Bush promised.....the perception will be, if in fact these docs are forgeries, that Bush was set up and all this talk about Bush not fulfilling his Gaurd duty is just all politics and not believable....because one or 2 docs are forgeries the whole story of Bush and his Guard services is a forgery and not true....I dont believe this but I am just saying that will be the perception out there in the heartland....

When caught in a scandal or a lie, throw a little word out there that will cast a thread of doubt into the mixture "forgeries". See How the media whores have not done their own investigation but rather picked up the Rovian word for the day "doubt," and they are off and running. Bush supporters will pick it up and than attempt to throw it back on Kerry......Kerry is behind all of this investigation.

The Tactics of Bush should be an investigative story all in it self......Michael Moore's next documentary, maybe.

Several people have posted that the documents looked like they were produced by IBM Selectric typewriters, which were in common use at the time, and can produce the proportional spacing, etc.

Is there any reason to believe that anything was forged, other than Drudge bleatings?

CBS sent these documents to the WH prior to there release. They released the documents knowing they were true and would be released by the network if they didn't acknowledge them.By that acknowledgment they certified them.End of story !
