"INDEPENDANT" document examiner??? I don't THINK so!
Independent document examiner Sandra Ramsey Lines said the memos looked like they had been produced on a computer using Microsoft Word software. Lines, a document expert and fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, pointed to a superscript — a smaller, raised "th" in "111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron" — as evidence indicating forgery.

And just HOW "INDEPENDANT" is Ms Lines???

Glad ya asked that question!

He has 20 years of experience and is the Vice President of the American Board of Forensics Documents Examiners.

I didn't find any links to BushCo. No contributions listed on Open Secrets.

23. What did William Flynn have to do with Nazi War Criminal Trial?
I googled him and found the transcript of the DEMJANJUK trial. All of the "typewriter" experts were called to debunk the documents which "proved" that this guy was a war criminal.

Hm.

16. Here's a guy who may be more legit
http://www.iht.com/articles/538218.html

(snip)

Philip Bouffard, a forensic document specialist from Ohio who created a commonly used database of at least 3,000 old type fonts, said he had suspicions as well. "I found nothing like this in any of my typewriter specimens," said Bouffard, a Democrat. He also said the fonts were "certainly consistent with what I see in Times Roman," the commonly used Microsoft Word font.

However, Bouffard said, a colleague had called his attention to similarities between the font in the memos and that of the IBM Selectric Composer of the early 1970s. He said there did in fact appear to be similarities and he was checking further.

But he said it would be unusual for Bush's commanding officer to have had the IBM machine because of its large size. Bouffard said that he would see on Friday if the fonts matched more closely.

Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 09:52 AM by LynnTheDem
That IN FACT the USAF THEMSELVES plainly and clearly show they DID USE IBMs back in 1969:

The Air Force was using testing this model in April 1969 according to their own information.

"690400
A Service Test was completed for the International Business Machines (IBM) "Selectric" typewriter and Magnetic Tape "Selectric" Composer."

Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 10:54 AM by DesertDem
This forum was down when I started a thread in GD, but I'll add this here too.

I called them with he information uncovered by LynnTheDem about their so-called independent expert. She thanked me for calling and said they are being assaulted with negative calls. I sent a follow-up email containing links to the information so they can verify it themselves. Thanks, LynnTheDem, for doing the leg work!

If you want to make a difference, please call with any information you have that you think will be helpful. Their number is: (212) 975-3691. You can always follow-up with an email.

Edited to correct phone number.

39. The person I spoke to is not the person who answered the phone.
I gave the receptionist a summarized version of the story and she transferred me. The woman I spoke to sounded relieved to get the information. She instructed me what to write in the heading of the email with the links for verification so she'll recognize it when it comes through. If you think more needs to be done, please feel free to call them.

38. Thanks, DD!
Someone should also let CBS know about the US Air Force's own document showing that they were indeed using IBMs back in 1969; and as we all know now, IBM did have proportional spacing and superscript.

Poor rightwingnuts; they KNOW they're such total stupid RUBES that were conned duped scammed by bushCartel and as a result are complicit in the deaths of tens of thousands of men, women, children, infants, FOETUSES...and they can't face up to their own guilt.

Too bad for them. God will someday see to it that they do so.
