Offer Nader the top EPA job in the Kerry administration?
What would that do?

A friend recently suggested that, and I did not know what to say. My first impulse was to say that ralph was hardly qualified to spell his name. But then again, I am certianly no ralph nader expert.

I would like to pose it as a serious question. Would it help or make things worse?

2. Fuck Nader
He is a republican tool. He is still taking support from pukes to get on ballots even though he denies it.

However, I would do it and then yank it, and tell him exactly WHY...just because he is an asshole and paybacks are a bitch

Sorry, that's how I feel.

4. Nader has a reputation as a bad boss
within his organization. Unless the underlings are buffered, putting him in there for his name value would be obviated by his poor administrative skills. He also is much more of a consumer advocate than an environmentalist.

7. Nader would either:
1. Turn down the offer very publically in an attempt to embarrass Kerry;
2. (less likely) accept but do everything possible to undermine Kerry while promoting himself until Kerry would have no choice but to fire him (which Nader would use to his advantage).

Nader can not be trusted. Any good he did is in the past, IMO

14. Ralph Nader is not a team player.
He likes to go it alone, and that just doesn't last in the Washington big time. Going on about causes, noble as they may be, and constantly breaking with others might get attention, but it won't get ANYTHING done.

22. I really don't think we have to worry about the Nader effect.
There was a completely different voter attitude in 2000. Lots of people were pi**ed off at Clinton, and the country had gone through 8 years of a Dem administration. They just wanted to try something else. There really was a strong belief that there wasn't much difference between Dems & Pubs. A lot of the Nader vote in 2000 wasn't a vote for Nader, but a vote against the establishment. Many were shocked that a President could actually be determined by 500+ votes!

All that is gone now. Many people do now know that it does matter if they vote a protest vote, they know what Shrub is really like, and they know there really is a difference between a Dem and THIS pub! The wind is gone from Nader's sails. I don't think we have to worry about him.

go immediately to the bottom of the agenda.
