Who the fuck cares about forgeries, Vietnam, Selectrics and Swift Boats?
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 11:07 AM by Bleachers7
This country is so screwed. We have more problems than we seem to be able to deal with and this is all anyone wants to talk about. What a pile of shit. We have wars that we appear to be losing in 2 different places. We are in an endless conflict in Iraq. We have more people on poverty than before. The planet is running out of oil and all we want to do is kill people for it. We have growing debts that will turn America into a Banana Republic. Watch our economy turn into Argentina's if we keep neglecting it. We have lost more jobs than we have gained. Americans would rather die than pay for health care. Pollution is killing people and hurting the environment. Our media system has failed.

And all you fucken people want to talk about are forgeries? Who the fuck cares? What is Kerry's message? That's what's being lost in this. The reputation and possibly the existence of this nation are at stake and all we have to talk about are forgeries. But I am not blaming DUers. It's not just you. The right doesn't want to talk about real issues either. They just outright lie. This is a disgrace. God save America.

3. I think it just comes down to media credibility. It means
people might actually have to do their research themselves. I mean seriously, how many times according to Matt Drudge have we caught Bin Laden? 3 times now I think.

4. not me
sign me up for the list of people who see the right pulling this one into the pit of navel-examining, while real issues go unnoticed.

6. Wow ....
The inner feelings surface when you least want them to ....

EVERYTHING is germaine to the process ... everything ....

Perhaps you are putting too much value in one moment ? ...

The Killian Memos are out there: and the 'forgery' claim is now hanging over them : WHY stop talking about them now ? ... why not DEFEND them now and make sure they arent dismissed ? ....

Strike while the irons hot: many said we needed to STOP talking about the SBL's: yet most now agree it should have been confronted strongly and quickly ....

8. Vietnam/ANG not the issue - issue is Bush's pattern of lies that
continues to this very day. Back then, he just stiffed the military for a million or so dollars and gamed the system in order to get out of getting shot at. But 30 years later, he's STILL doing it and it's now costing ALL of us billions of dollars, thousands of lives, our economic and national security.

THAT's why it matters.

9. Oh, I don't know
All of the people sitting in airports, bars, receptionists's offices...you name it, where CNN, MSNBC, FOX, et. al are running 24/7.
SHOULD this be about real issues. Of course. And just what control do we have over that.

10. Yes, I'm so sick of all of this
Let's talk about renewable fuels, pre-emptive wars, health care, outsourcing. If these were the topics of discussion, I wonder who would be winning???? No I don't Kerry would be wasting shrub.

11. The issue is Bush's credibility.
We will win or lose on whether we can convince undecideds that they cannot trust Bush to tell the truth about war or anything else.

12. I agree
This is all a distraction keeping people from focusing on what a frigging mess the country is in. Which can all be attributed to Bush but we're all quibbling about forgeries/not forgeries, type fonts and IBM Selectrics.

To the average person, this all sounds like another smear campaign like the Swifties.

13. Yes, we're all probably sick of it
But it's important that all of these accusations are laid to rest because it goes to the heart of Kerry's credibility. NEVER, NEVER give the republicans an inch, they'll take a yard by the time they're done.
