LOL Rangel KNEW he was going to get ambushed by Novak!
He pre-emptively downplayed Bush going AWOL- "a lot of good Americans avoided the draft."- When Novak tried to bring up something from ten years back where Rangel defended Clinton, he'd practically already answered the question.

SMART man.

16. And he ended up in the draft
He got a high number (in the 300's) in the 1969 draft. So he might have had a deferment, but he put his name in the draft eventually.

2. Why isn't that traitorous piece of crap Novak in prison?
Why isn't he in jail sweating out a contempt charge for not revealing his source?

Why are right wing scumsucking pigshaggers all above the law?

14. Novak said to Rangel
your candidate, Wes Clark, who had never even run for dogcatcher, said elect me, & we won t have terrorist attacks.

Novak was trying to compare this to Cheney s statement.

But it was the way he said it, really inferring that Clark was hopeless, & he had no respect for him. His voice was dripping with venom.

Rangel replied that his candidates, Wes & Kerry had actually worn the uniform, fought in battle, & been wounded.

5. Rangel: This country more polarized than it's been since Civil War...
maybe, this time the Supreme Court won't select the president and votes will determine what democracy is, not polls. (Paraphrasing.)

7. At least Clinton had a moral obligation to the war
And didn't use his dad's name to avoid fighting it.

9. Bill Clinton never supported the war in Vietnam, either
a fact that just conveniently gets overlooked. GW did recruiting posters for it!

OTOH, Kerry and Gore were both against the war - and both served.

10. Novak didn't even listen to what Rangel was saying
He prattled on and on about statements that Rangel had made in the past about Americans avoiding the draft as if it was inconsistent with what Rangel had just said, when both statements were exactly the same.

Jerkoff.
