In a shift, Democratic Party decides to run ads in Missouri, Colorado
<Under pressure, the Democratic Party will air television ads in Missouri and Colorado starting this weekend after dropping the states from its first round of post-Labor Day commercials.

In their initial advertising plans for September, the Democratic National Committee and Sen. John Kerry's campaign had reserved broadcast time in 14 states, angering party leaders in six other states that had become accustomed to the money and attention given to presidential battlegrounds.

Even as state and national polls show Kerry trailing President Bush -- by 14 percentage points in Missouri, for example -- the DNC said the political landscape had improved enough in the two states to warrant expansion of its ad buy. Officials denied it had anything to do with pressure from state leaders.

Democrats had spent at least $10 million combined on ads before September to try to put the two states in play.

Kerry's campaign has no plans to run commercials in either state this month. However, it has reserved October airtime for both, along with a few others. >

3. As they should
Colorado is definitely in play, and Missouri is not in the bag for Bushco.

On a side note, is the St. Louis debate the one Bush wants to pull out of?

4. Yes.
Because that is the one that is in town meeting format where the questions come from undecided voters and he is afraid there might be some unfriendly voters. Sign of a strong leader don't you think? :eyes:

5. Kerry should call him out on it
Announce that he'll show up in St. Louis anyway for the debate, Bush or no Bush. See if he blinks.

7. Missouri seems to be a lost cause. Colorado, well maybe!
MO went south really fast on Kerry. The Swiftliars pretty much killed him there. At least this will force Shrub to spend there too.

Who would have thought we'd still have a chance in CO? Maybe since Kerry was born there he's got the favorite son halo?
