The funniest thing happened today...
Ok, my job is to drive around town, fixing computers all day...while this is the job Im paid for, Im also a roving liberal billboard, with a few bumper stickers on the back of my car...now I used to have VERY liberal ones like Jesus Was A Liberal and Against Abortion? Then Dont Have One...but once I got a Kerry/Edwards sticker, I decided to take down the extremely liberal stickers, so not to turn off swing voters...but here is what I have left:
Florida Democrat (which I am, nothing too controversial there)
Kerry/Edwards for a Stronger America (again, typical sticker you see all over the place)
Freedom is the Distance Between Church and State (this sticker has this male sillhouette figure with outstreched muscular arms seperating a cross from the capitol building rotunda)
Now, this last one apparently hit a cord with someone. When I left one of the job sites and returned to my car, there was a note on the window. I started to freak out thinking someone hit my car...but then I read it:

Dear Sir:
I hope you are comfortable in knowing that you are going to burn in Hell.
- A God-Feearing American

I laughed. Then I noticed he didnt leave a way for me to respond...so I flipped over the paper and wrote my own note and stuck it to a branch of the tree that was directly in front of my car. Hopefully the person that left it was in the car next to mine and they will see it. Here is what I wrote:

Dear Sir:
If disagreeing with your fascist neocon UNamerican views means I will burn in hell, then so be it. Remember, Liberal is not a 4 letter word, but Bush and Dick are.
If, instead of being an un-named coward, you would like to discuss this further, you can call me at 321-xxx-xxxx .
- Scott (waiting in Hell)

God I hope they see it.

6. It's a small thing
but my experience proves this "turning into the fire" works, albeit not a perfect analogy.

On the Yahoo message boards, when I DEMAND that someone backs up a baseless allegation (and there are so many to choose from!), the thread usually ends right there. If they reply, sure as hell it's not to my demand for proof, so I reply even more strongly that they give me proof or quit wasting everyone's time.

It can be fun, and any recommendations my posts get mean that at least someone is getting the message and that it's being reinforced.

Ugh, I need a life.

2. I refuse to turn and run from them -- I get emails from freeper
relatives that are the standard lies and I refute them (usually citing snopes) and then I advise that I will be happy to provide them with the truth if they insist on emailing me the garbage. Those emails are getting fewer and fewer!

4. My aunt
my aunt and her husband has decided to not allow me or any of my family email any political emails to them anymore (my aunt and uncle are apparently the only neocons in the family, thank god)...They cant stand seeing the truth...they get all pissy and reply with the classic "we can agree to disagree", which to me is the worst f-ing cop-out Ive ever heard...complete ignorance and refusal to discuss important issues just pisses me off. Like the guy with the note...he had no facts, nothing substantial to say...just some bullshit religious diatribe that does nothing but make me realize what an ignorant fool he is. Thats why I left my number, so hopefully I can educate the poor fool.

14. I did that at work to two Freepers -- snopes is my friend. I soon
had no more loopy e-mail chain letters about all sorts of off-the-wall idiocy.

11. Yeah, clinton kicked ass more than many give credit for
I loved his dnc speech...the 'turn the boat ashore' was great, but also his comparison of the two parties, and how they NEED a divided America, but we dont. Great stuff.

8. I doubt that, myself. First - they're not clever enough to think that far
ahead, to the tree on which your response was posted - if indeed it even occurs to them that their repulsive comment would provoke a response;

Second - as with ALL bullies - they can dish it out but they CANNOT take it. I sure wish Kerry would have THAT one tattooed all over the inside of his brain.

Confront them with facts and they shrivel. Or fall back on a) Clinton's penis, b) ask why you hate America, or c) 9/11!!! 9/11!!! 9/11 Changed Everything!!!! 9/11!!! 9/11!!!!

Challenge them. Especially since nobody else seems to have the brains OR guts for it (meaning the media). I don't get knuckle-dragger emails anymore, since I started responding - and not only to the sender but to everybody on his/her list and the person(s) who sent the email to the sender. Two rounds of such emails. From separate, completely unrelated senders. Both stopped cold.

CONFRONT!!! That's the ONLY WAY. Force them to stand by their claims. And watch them utterly dissolve.

12. my emails stopped too
Yeah, I was replying to my hatemail from my site, but then they just stopped...but since they stopped I started posting them on my site to show how insane these people really are. But yes, once you reply and stand your ground, those are the points they turn to... monica, calling us names (america hater, communist, terrorist, blah blah), or some 911 reference that has nothing to do with anything. But as soon as you point out that they are not really 'saying' anything other than rhetoric, they just respond with a "F**K YOU. GO TO IRAN WHERE YOU'D BE HAPPIER" and you never hear from them agian.....lol..ignorant idiots.

9. You Rock, Scott!
 :bounce: :yourock:

I love that bumper sticker. Jeebus, I wish those folks would go find a religious country to live in, like Saudi Arabia or Iran.

10. This pious coward is unfamiliar with "Judge now, that ye be not judged."
Mighty Christian of him to consign a fellow human being to hellfire.

If he really feared his God, he would be living his belief, and not the toxic, corrosive melange spooned out by Robertson, Falwell, etc.

Hypocrite.

13. Yes, this is why I wanted to wait
I wanted to point that very thing out to him, but I had to go on to my next job, so all I could do is leave the note. I wanted to ask if he thinks he did what Jesus would have done. lol
