Swift Forgery Rather Times Roman Typewriter Purple Heart Boat
1,007 dead soldiers in Iraq. 20,000 'medical evacuations.' 20,000 dead Iraqi civilians, minimum.

We're playing their game. We're forced into it.

Kerry, or any other candidate, could have been running a perfect campaign to this point. It wouldn't matter. The media would have played it this way no matter what. I can't tell if they're evil, biased, or if basic journalistic integrity and capability has atrophied to such a degree that this crap is the best they can do. Think about that scary thought. These fools might actually think they're practicing 'journalism.'

Unbelievable. If we win this thing, it'll be a goddam miracle.

1. I believe that most of them honestly think they are practicing
journalism. Older folks like Rather and a few others know better, or at least they should, but these younger people don't know how things used to be.

5. Yep. I think so, too. Frogs in boiling water
The young ones just think it's a warm pool.

Yes, the Busheviks are parcticign Totalitarianism Amerikan Style where the slaves forge and fasten their own chains, and shush any Uppity One who dares question their Bushevik masters.

Sea Changes are insidious, the perception of "normality" can be maintained until it is far too late.

Which is just a way of saying Frogs in Slowly Boiling Water.

And absolutely, I think this generation of "journalists" who have betrayed our nation in ways the Yellow Journalists of the Hearst Era could never have done because the System was still strong at it's core.

no matter what Kerry does the mainstreem emedia rips him apart.....We have a sitting pResident who lied us into war that has caused thousands of thousands of death and now he is exploiting peoples' emotions of 911 to gain politically and the media gives him a free pass and instead talks about typewriters, swift boats, and windsurfing....Kerry is getting (Al) Gored!

Excellent, but frustrating as hell.

6. YOU are kidding right?
I am hardly a Polyanna here but it seems to me that these clowns are shooting up all their ammo too soon. There are enough folks in this country who see through all the Vietnam bullshit and type font horseshit and all the rest of this crap. Keep working, all of us, and we cannot lose. Its a war, let's remember that.

I remember
All I'm saying is that its an ocean of bullshit, and the media (not Bush & Co., as they are merely obeying the demands of their fetid little genes; you don't blame a shark for biting) is the true enemy here. What makes you think all their 'ammo' will be fired any time soon. I smell a bottomless resevoir of crap. No issues. Just crap.

8. "Basic journalistic integrity" = the null set
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 05:29 PM by rezmutt
Will, you're correct on all three points:
Some are indeed evil;
Some are indeed biased;
and those few who had any journalistic integrity to begin with, have abandoned it in the food-fight that is the "coverage" of this presidential campaign.

11. Not shocking to me, beet.
In this case my cynicism has rendereed me almost insensible.

If the roundups arrests and Gulaggings started tomorrow, I wouldn;t bat an eyelash.

The Busheviks can get started any time they want now, but I miagine they are being extra cautious, being this close to unchecked Totalitarian Power and they don;t want to blow by moving to the Final Phases too soon.

Of course, if they DID, I would be not surprised at all.

12. Yeah, well
We took plenty hits on the undocumented Swiftlies and I don't think we should just let this AWOL story slide and hope the media will even the score with a focus on issues. They haven't balanced their coverage on the issues so far.

What we have here is an opportunity to blunt the effect of the commander in terror and his campaign of fear. Our boat has been swamped and now we have a chance to stir the waters and fill Bush's boat. We're not at a point where we can rely on the media to portray our candidate as on the right side of any issue. They blur the lines of debate and never, never, present the facts of issues in a way that gives clarity or balance. Our campaign will benefit when Bush's manufactured facade is torn down and folks can see the emperor, naked and impotent.
