AP Poll: Bush has slight lead on Kerry

It's 5 among LVs and 8 among RVs. Remember, the bounce starts disappearing after two weeks, not one, and even the Repukes admit the lead will shrink in the coming days. The three polls I'm aware of today have Bush's lead among LVs at 2-5 percent. At least the days of double digits leads are over, a headline saying Bush has a "slight" lead is actually a relief.

1. My local news still says Bush is up by 11 pts

in their little ticker at the bottom of the screen. They're way behind.

2. This is excellent.

It's been barely one week since the Chimp's convention, and he's already back to near the margin of error. If Gore can win the popular vote when most polls showed him down by 5 or more %, I can only feel wonderful when we're actually tied in the polls.

What's more is that our side is actually excited about voting this time around. A poll in 2000 found that about 35% of Dems were "excited" about voting for our nominee. This year, that number is almost 70%! If our turnout in 2000 was nice, just wait until November 2nd.. :)
