Favorite First Couples?
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 03:32 AM by mwei924
With Barack and Michelle soon to be in the White House, we're gonna have a super attractive and accomplished first couple! How about a nice walk down memory lane-- which is your favorite first couple? Who seemed to have the cutest relationship? Who accomplished the most together? Hottest?

2. Grover Cleveland and his scandalously hot and young wife Frances Folsom Cleveland Preston whom he...
married in the middle of his first of two non-consecutive terms.

Serving non-consecutive terms, courting 22 year olds while president. Grover was a fucking PIMP!

Interesting contrast and comparison video of JFK and Obama here.
It's a new one, done by CBS since Obama won the election.

23. Bill and Hillary
And politics aside, Nancy and Ronald Reagan really were madly in love with each other.

Also, Andrew Jackson ended up killing a guy who insulted his wife's honor. Which is sort of romantic, I suppose.

24. George and Martha were pretty sweet. I also liked Jerry and Betty, and Harry and Bess.
Lots of great love stories among the First Couples. Politics aside, there are so many stories that are amazing. Almost every couple has a unique story.

Could be quite a book.

29. I'm sure there is a book.
A couple of years ago I read a really good book about the Presidents and their relationships with their daughters.

30. There was book on presidential marriages recently
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 12:46 PM by galaxy21
Amongst its claims

-Jackie and Jack: troubled but you knew something was there.
-LBJ and Ladybird: 'He couldn't live without her'
-Richard Nixon and Pat: Their marriage was described as loveless. I also think Bob Woodward said they hadn't been close in years.

I think JFK/Jackie was a lot like Hillary/Bill in that the husband had affairs, but they still loved each other. Jackie was near suicidal when he died.
