Rather sounded like he had been up all night hollering over the phone
about how he wasn't going to take this lying down. How do I email CBS a congratulatory note on their (Rather's) coverage?

5. Thanks, I sent this message

Dear Sir,

I must congratulate CBS for the excellent way it covered the Bush AWOL story.

Although I am not an admirer of the American media, I must congratulate Mr. Rather and your network for telling this as it is.

I am particularly impressed by the way Mr. Rather has asked Bush to answer the five questions he has put forward:

1. Did family connections get George W. Bush his coveted National Guard slot?
2. Did Lt. Bush refuse a direct order from his commanding officer?
3. Was Lt. Bush suspended for failure to perform up to National Guard standards?
4. Did Lt. Bush ever take the physical he was required to take?
5. Did Lt. Bush complete his commitment to National Guard?

These are important questions, not only for Americans going to the polls to elect a new President for their nation, but also to citizens of the world as it is an election to elect the leader of the free world . If we have a liar, cheat and fraudster as the leader of the free world, what can we expect next?

Thank you once again for coming out fearlessly out of the woodwork.

Yours sincerely

3. I thought he had a cold.
Regardless, he obviously didn't want to call in sick.

He can be a bit nutty, but he's always been respectable. Sad that he should be the exception and not the rule.

6. Stress and lack of sleep always does that to me too
I'll bet he develops a full blown cold or other respiratory infection this weekend, unfortunately...

4. He sure was!!
I commented on another thread how very hoarse he was -- which is very unusual for him, being a network anchor and all.

He either talked a lot more than usual over the last day or so, or at a much higher volume than usual.

It was a proud moment to watch Dan take the heat and stand up for journalistic integrity against the vicious Brownshirt "Republican Guard" that protect His Chimperial Majesty from democracy.
