Why don't we all start watching CBS news in support of Rather
Get everyone on the different Dem web sites to start watching CBS news and help the rates go up, as a statement in support of Rather and to help him keep the Viacom higher ups off his back.

1. I already have been watching Rather for years!
I used to watch Cronkite back in the day and then naturally progressed to Rather after Cronkite retired. I NEVER watch cable news..never did. I watch CBS exclusively and have all my life. I watched the moon missions on CBS and every important event since. What I will do is put a CBS bumbersticker on my car and actively promote CBS to others who watch other sources. But I'm already a Rather fan!

But I am going to start watching Rather every night. I am sick of CNN.

2. I told them in my email
Dear CBS Evening News,

Huzzah!!!

Thank you and congratulations to you and all at 60 Minutes II on the Killian-TANG-Bush story. I have been away from your program for a while but I have returned as a viewer. I also have bookmarked cbsnews.com for my online news fix.

Yours Truly,

Livia

8. Here Here, also write and thank them
I have wrote the following:

I would like to commend Mr. Rather for renewing my hope in honest, responsible journalism. He has shown proof positive that the newly released documents are in fact NOT fakes. By showing that officially released documents from the White House having the same superscripts AND the 'baseless 4', it shows that either the documents are real, or that the WHite house also released forged documents. You have cornered the corrupt crooks, and I thank you. I was begining to lose hope in the mass media, but you have renewed that hope in showing that there really are true Investigative Reporters out there. Thanks you, Thank you!!

10. I called my sister
to be sure she knew to watch, and she said that of all the journalists on network t.v....she doesn't do cable..."I'd rather Rather". I told her I'm going to "borrow" the line from her.

12. I Watched CBS Evening News For the First Time In a While Tonight
Interesting note: Since I'm between a couple markets, I get CBS out of Lansing, MI and CBS out of Chicago, IL.

In Lansing, the first ten minutes or so of the CBS Evening News (including the beginning of the segment about aWol) was pre-empted by the local affiliate newcasters just sitting around the desk shooting the breeze an extra seven minutes FOR NO APPARENT REASON and then by commercials.

When the commercials ran their course, the cut into the Evening News already in progress. I kept swapping back and forth between the two CBS channels, so I could see what all the Lansing people were missing.
