My reply from CBS News
(sorry if this is a dup.)
As you can see, they are getting dumped on. PLEASE WRITE and give them your support!

Here's the address:

Thank you for taking the time to write. Your support is appreciated. As you can imagine, we've been inundated with negative emails. It's refreshing to hear from a viewer such as yourself. We strive for the highest level of journalistic integrity and will continue to do so, no matter what the cost. A free society demands free, unmuzzled media expression.
Regina,

You have proven that there are still a few journalists with integrity.

I also saw YOU being interviewed by CNN, and appreciate your pointing out to the second "journalist" that allegations are not facts. Nobody hears that anymore, thanks to FOX and their minions.

I'm sure you've gotten a lot of hate mail, but put me in the other pile. I think you're wonderful

5. I received the same reply to the e-mail I sent them after
60 Minutes.

I sent them another one this evening after the news. There is no reply to that one, yet.

They are reading the e-mails. We need to keep it up. They need our support.

no reply yet.

To everyone at CS,

I admit it, I was wrong. Until today, I thought journalistic integrity was a thing of the past. A story to tell our children; about the time when reporters and networks researched their stories rather than repeating party talking points and rewriting stories from internet message boards. But by standing by your reporting, and not backing down from the assault from other networks; Dan Rather and CBS have proven that integrity is not a dead concept.

The media is not something to be muzzled or controled, it is necessary for a free and informed society; and you have proven with this story that you are the example that should be looked to among an overwhelmingly "ditto" media.

I'm sure you're being absolutley inundated with negative attention and e-mails; but you should take that as a sign of panic from those who would prefer a less independent media.

You've gained a viewer.

Congratulations, and thank you,

and thought he should carry the torch of honesty and trust that Walter Cronkite earned many years ago as "the most trusted man in America". Ill email CBS immediately. Thanks for sharing this with us!!!

I e mailed a thank you as well. I would think CBS has as many or more evening news viewers than FOX, MSNBC, and CNN combined.

You are the last major broadcast news organization
willing to investigate matters concerning the
President of the United States. That is not
liberalism, that is journalism. Keep up the good work.

23. msg to CBS
Msg: Why is it just fine for Novak to "out" Wilson and wife and he is free to not tell his source? He broke laws as far as I can tell. But, the media howls when CBS brings out negatives concerning Bush. Does this tell we citizens we are being led like sheep? It's about time some media had the guts to tell a story not approved by Bush & Co. Thank you so Much.

28. I already sent emails to 60 minutes, and to Dan. I just sent another
one to the Evening news on CBS. Here's what I sent.

I already sent emails to 60 Minutes and to Dan, but maybe I didn't cover all the bases! I want to tell you as well...It is very refreshing to finally hear a news reporter who simply puts the truth out there and isn't afraid of corporate pressures or political pressure either.

Dan has a very strong and positive reputation in the news business, and isn't afraid of the slams I'm sure he, and you, have received after the 60 Minutes II broadcast the other night. I also know he would not risk that reputation for the sake of a story.

I know dan will be retireing in the near future. I only hope he can impart his ethics on some of the younger reporters before he leaves!

Thanks for the good job.

my copy:

Dear Whom It May Concern,

Thank you for your investigative efforts. I truly appreciate having news with many different perspectives, and I am glad that 60 Minutes took on the risky task of providing us with uncomfortable information about our country and government but is nonetheless the truth. Again, thank you for your integrity and perseverance in standing by your report.

33. Here is my letter to CBS:
I've long considered CBS evening news to be the best news source. I know you are under tremendous pressure to retract at least portions of the 60 minutes story. I hope you stick to your guns, because the story appears to be accurate, and most of the statements made against you by document experts have proven a bit flimsy.

It's hard to hear the truth over the noise coming from the echo chamber of the extreme right, but I think Dan Rather is doing a good job. I hope the calm voices of reason will prevail. I'm out here supporting you, like many, many others. Your detractors may find their strength in loud, angry voices, but the fair-minded will show our strength in numbers.

Regardless of the outcome on the documents, I will keep watching CBS
news.

Glad there are some more facts coming out to support the memos today (for instance the Boston Globe story which says that the Air Force had tested and ordered the high-end IBM typewriters several years earlier.)
