Get off your ASS and write some emails!!
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 10:19 PM by BullGooseLoony
The freepers are running a MASSIVE email campaign right now!

Email Dan Rather here: evening@cbsnews.com

And if you want to send Marcel Matley, the expert from the CBS News report tonight, a note or email of support, you can get ahold of him here:

Marcel Matley
A and M Matley
PO Box 882401
San Francisco, CA 94188-2401
Bus (415) 753-2832
Bus (800) 367-8403
Fax (415) 753-3346
mmatley@aol.com

He probably really needs us right now.

Also, when writing Dan, or any other news organization, make note of Sandra Ramsey Lines' GOP affiliation, c/o Proud2BAmurikan:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x788622

Use the links below to back up your claims- she's involved in "the WISH list", a GOP women's fundraising organization.

You can see her donations to the group here:

http://www.publicintegrity.org/527/handler-download.aspx?act=txt&type=con&org=574&year=2003

And here's the link to the group's website:

http://www.thewishlist.org

Now let's GO! The freeper fucks could very well sway this if we don't get off our asses NOW and write some letters!

Send some hatemail to Scarborough:

joe@msnbc.com

or CNN:

http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form1.html?39

Tell them you're sick of their disregard for professionalism in journalism.

Let's go!

1. does sending emails really help?
do they read the emails...maybe an intern reads the email and then deletes them...what do you think? I send them all the time and I am not sure if it does anything but make the recipeint of the email have to delete one more email....

They definitely feel it, especially when it's a massive barrage.

20. I sent one to CNN.com the other day about a stupid poll
and later in the day they changed the wording like I suggested! Either it was just li'l ole me:shrug: or they must've received a bunch of emails saying the same thing I was saying. So I know someone reads them.

31. if they get 1000 freeper emails and 1000 supporting emails, i would think
the freeps have been neutralized. i remember reading somewhere that editors count the number of letters for/against something and tweak their voices to represent the numbers.

our voices are just as loud and strong as theirs. we just have to get more organized about it and actually DO some writing. if we do this consistently for a period of time, i think we will get traction and see results. the repukes have been doing this for years. we have ground to make up. but with our numbers, i have no doubt we will do so in no time.

It'd be okay if they had no idea anybody was out there who felt differently than the howling packs of freepers hounding them to pieces?

DO IT. SEND AN EMAIL. OR A SNAIL MAIL. Or a contribution. Or SOMETHING. If we remain silent, then we're the "Silenced Majority."

You want the Bad Guys to do all the talking - or worse - to do all the talking FOR US?

Just do it.

BTW, BullGooseLoony, I pasted your collection into the Five-Star Thread in Activism/Events. It's a keeper. If for NO other reason the urgency that you add with your comments. Good illustration of the applications for this, and how to think and extrapolate out with your activism. Thanks and kudos!

Thank you, Dan Rather for being a real journalist and investigating the facts instead of being an echo chamber of the White House.

That's all we've wanted.. was a reporter to after a story and not sit on them while some of the biggest news stories in history have come down the pike.

23. Already done.
Here's what I sent:
"There are MILLIONS of us out there who are behind you one hundred percent and have been waiting for a news organization with the guts to ask hard questions of this administration and refuse to back down. If the media in this country had done that during the lead-up to the Iraq War, perhaps 1000+ dead Americans and countless Iraqis would still be alive. I used to watch CBS News by default because it came on after what I was watching but you can be assured that I will be making a POINT of tuning in from this point on."

25. My letter to CBS....
"God bless CBS and Dan Rather for having the guts to run the Bush TANG story, and the guts to stand by it. I know that you are deluged with hate mail and threats from the right wing hate machine. They wouldn't know or accept the truth if their own mother force fed it to them ...This un-holy, un-civil war between the right and left is creating a cognitive anarchy making each side impervious to the hard truths that don't support their ideology. Thank you for being a beacon of light in this political morass of destruction. God bless..."

27. my "love note " to my beloved CNN
I thought CNN could sink no lower, but your reporting today managed to reach new depths.
Do your 'journalists' such as Leslie Bitzer, et al, practice REAL investigative skills or are you completely at the mercy of reading Right Wing blogs for your stories now?It is shameful that your 'reporters' chose to attack other real Journalists (out of jealousy and guilt, perhaps) instead of looking into the very real charges and accusations of our AWOL Commander-in-Chief.
Your stations Independent founder , Ted Turner, must be hanging his head in shame as you try desperately to be a second rate version of Fox.

36. HERE IS THE "INSIDE SKINNY" ON WHAT IS GOING ON-GOING DOWN!
Dan Rather is a Texas native. He was born and raised outside Houston and then after completing college, cut his television journalist teeth at a National network station in Houston.

He took on the Bush Family "Texas Mafia"(BFTM) several times in the early 70's, and this current situation is more of the "blood feud" between he and H.W. Bush. Dan Rather is very solid, a real pro, first-class credibility (unlike those flake GOP-ops reporters at Fox), and will NOT back down from a deal that he knows he is right. I/we have never seen Dan do it once in 35 years!

The Bush Family Texas Mafia (BFTM) tries to destroy anyone that takes them on, hell just look at their damn track record. You all know this!

More importantly, we will make some phone calls on this deal, and in particular if CBS “60 Minutes” has something cooking to bag the BFTM on several matters we are aware. We keep hearing "little things" on this subject, plus the Washington Post has been digging on this next deal for over a year.

It has to do with the Bush Family corruption, documents the Fed accidentally discovered at Enron (which was a Bush Family business "front operation"), and Bush's "War Dog" House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (Houston) being under a massive Texas criminal grand jury investigation, for fraud, bribery, extortion, money laundering, and criminal abuse of his political office.

The big kicker is Bob “$200,000 donor to O’Neill’s SBVT” Perry (Houston) is involved with DeLay in his criminal enterprise and we mean BIG TIME! Also eleven (11) other BFTM members are involved, in varying degree, including the Texas Governor and other ranking elected State officials, and many of them could go to jail over this deal.

The BFTM is doing everything possible to keep the lid on it, and also get W elected. BFTM needs W elected so he can do Presidential Pardons for BFTM Enron buddies, (Ken Lay), DeLay, Perry, and others that get convicted and sent to prison over this massive criminal enterprise.

That in a nutshell is what’s going on with all the Bush-Cheney-GOP totally outright fraud in their campaign. They don’t have a platform to run on, so the con and fraud game is all they got!

They are going nuts because Rather stuck his nose in it. If you recall Dan Rather has stayed pretty neutral in his reporting on the O’Neill-SBVT fraud scam. We know, what I just delineated, because we are well connected Republicans, have several influential Houstonians in our “Beat Bush” cartel, along with two Houston criminal attorney’s – NKR

PS: It should be noted that CBS is owned by Viacom. 70-75% of campaign donations by Viacom (VIA) executives and its political action committee, have gone to the Democratic Party and its candidates. Just some interest info, nothing else!

38. Thanks GOP,
I've been following you around the boards for a little while. This is some explosive stuff. I've seen/read all these details before. Connecting the dots, heretofore, seems to have been thwarted to a faretheewell.

Dan Rather is a veteran journalist and no fool. I've been around for a "few decades", I've seen the man work. I can't wait to see how this pans out.

I'll do my part in terms of supporting him if he's about to blow the lid off of this cabal.

I sure hope this boat floats. Thanks again.

My concern is what the Feds found and whether something constructive will actually be done with it. I realize there are ethical people within the government, but how can they proceed with the GOP controlling all branches of our government?

42. I't s been my experience
that, after a presidential election, there are a number of tidbits of information that are slowly revealed, facts or secrets that were intentionally not reported on by the press during the campaign. Early examples of this of course include the fact that the press knew President Kennedy (one of my heroes, by the way) was a womanizer, and that FDR was disabled. Today, the press must know a LOT of things about the Bush administration that they are not, for one reason or another, revealing. (The usual excuse is "if we'd reported that at the time, it might have influenced the election". Gag.)

If we, the American public, can keep the pressure on the press, to report the full truth, and to know the truth will be supported and appreciated by us, then maybe we can shake a few more stories loose. We can do this by continuing to encourage good honest reporting (like Dan Rather currently) and by calling BS on the crap spewed by Karl Rove puppets on CNN and wherever else they show up. I plan to write at least one email a day between now and election time, ONE A DAY, and I challenge all 50,000 DU'ers to do the same!
