Kerry Debate Strategy: be very respectful and deferential...
to the Office of the President.

He should address Bush /listen with the utmost courtesy (no eye rolling or sighing)- this will (I believe) make a remarkable impression and show his sterling character, honor and decency. It will impress all- the public and media- that Kerry is able to rise above the dishonorable and disrespectful way he has been treated by Bush and his lackeys, showing his tolerance and diplomatic superiority.

MIND YOU- I despise the election-stealing Chimp, but the debates are theatre and we've got to win this.

1. Deferential?
How is he going to emphasize the ineptness of Bush and hit on Bush's record (which Bush has understandably thrown under the rug in his campaign) by being deferential?

He should hit Bush and hit him hard.

2. Never, Repeat, Never should Kerry
call him "President Bush" or "The President". At all times he needs to make sure he calls him "Mr. Bush".

Referring to him with ANY sort of title is a No-No.

4. Not falling for that crap

Before the DNC that is all we heard - dont' be hateful, can't have a Bush hate fest.

Then the RNC attacked Kerry, day after day. The media kept calling the speeches - redmeat speeches. Nothing about a hate fest.

NOW the media says the DNC was "too nice" perhaps a tactical mistake in not attacking Bush.

5. Kerry should spit in Bush's face
Gore's problem was that he was snarky and snide. If Gore had simply said, "You are a moron" Gore would be president today.

6. Someone SHOULD point out that Bush deserves little respect.
Your idea is just so frustrating, because I for one am waiting for SOMEONE to be like, you know what? This guy is nothing more than a street punk who has manipulated and lied to the American people.

Maybe it doesn't have to be Kerry, but I'm so sick of the "let's play nice" mentality of the Democrats.

9. I don't think it's "playing nice"
I think it's playing like a grownup. I know that's not how we DO things here in America anymore, but we should.

I totally agree. Kerry can demolish * in the debates without once saying anything rude or sarcastic. He just needs to toss the lies up in his face and leave the ranting, raving, stuttering, mumbling, misspeaking, insulting, smearing, and spinning up to the Enemy of the People.

10. I respect all of what you're saying...

our convention should have been red meat and the Dems blew it.. but I think frustration and anger should be kept in check for the debates... because you know that will not play well side by side with the grinning, affable Chimp- Kerry can cut him to ribbons with his intellect in a calm, dignified, presidential manner.

Just my opinion.

when they were on the Dick Cavett show...that was sweet...:)
