Du is enthusiastic, yet they fell all overthemselves to while and scream doom when Bush took the lead? Anybody notice he is dropping like a stone?BTW, I noticed no whining was retracted when it was revealed that the most outrageous polls had flawed methodology.

1. Actually, I'm relieved
to see this.

I never posted on it...couldn't join in the frenzy...but I was initially alarmed at the polls......

feel a lot calmer now.

2. Too broad a brush
I'm not whining. The only possible course of action is to work for a Kerry victory, no matter how good or bad the polls get.

No other political considerations matter. Kerry could be at 1% and it would still be the only course of action I would take.

Whining doesn't matter either way. Don't waste a second more being concerned about it.

3. I agree,
but since I haven't had as much time as usual to keep up with the polls, which ones specifically are you referring to? Maybe some DUers aren't even aware of them.

4. If you discount the trolls and the freepers I don't know how many
DUers fit into your scenario. We'd all do well to look to the longterm rather than acting like we have campaign ADD.

8. Hm?

Did you mean that you don't know how many real DUers were dooming and glooming about a week ago?

Oh, quite a few. I'm not blaming them, but they were out in force, all right.

5. Bush is still ahead,
We should have chosen Dean
We should have chosen Clark,
We should have chosen Senator Joseph Lieberman. The dems are adrift. When have you ever heard of John-mentum?

6. I'm Very Happy

After the initial post-RNC polls came out, most here who were trying to fight the overwhelming doom-and-gloom (which was more depressing than the actual results) said that *'s little bouncie would evaporate in a week or two.

It certainly looks like they were right. Raz tracking continues to be dead even, Zogby, ICR, and the Economist are close or even, and the state polls have flipped back in Kerry's favor after a "problem period." Even the silly Newsweek metholodogy, polling about a hundred more Rethugs than Dems, shows * dropping like a stone within a week. That probably means it's even.

Look, if Gore could win the popular vote by 540,000 + all his supporters who were disenfranchised in Florida, and the polls were just as wacky back then, that has to tell you something.

I am actually pretty excited to have the race where it is right now. It's hard to see things doing anything but go downhill from here for the DimSon.

10. I'm optimistic
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 04:47 PM by mvd
I was worried more about the changes in the perception questions (ones like is the country headed in the right direction?), but then I thought, "a flawed poll is a flawed poll." Bush may be ahead by a little, but I think that some of the voters could easily go back to Kerry.
