They STILL Lump IRAQ With the 'War On Terror'
I'm watching Rumsfeld on C-SPAN right now, and he mentioned the fact that we have 'lost 1100 soldiers in the ongoing war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan'

Then he was questioned by the press and no one even pressed him on that lie.

Oh yea, then he talked about how the terrorists won when the Spanish people voted out their president after the train bombings. And he said 'I've never known any election that was perfect.' OH, the irony.

And he talked about how 'extremists are determined to destroy states, and spread their violence around the world'. Umm, just like the current extremists at 1600 pennsylvania avenue and the pentagon? :eyes:

I don't get it, how do these people STILL get away with such blatant distortion of the truth?

1. 'Cos it works. The press is complicit, and people are too lazy to think
for themselves. They lie because they have learned they can do so with impunity. All they have to do is holler "9/11 changed everything!" and people fall all over their stupid selves praising the Naked Photo-Opportunistic Emperor

2. You're right
It is infinitely irritating to hear * get up in front of a group of drones that have already applied their blood to loyalty oaths and say "If John Kerry had his way, Saddam Hussein would still be in power!" Yeah, and 1000 American soldiers would still be alive, you stupid fucking SOB!

The fact that the whores are allowing them (STILL) to lump Iraq in with the War on Terra is phenomenal to me.

3. Im sick of it

I'm really sick of it myself.

The press is worthless, they let this administration peddle whatever garbage they care to. They are honestly in fear of the administration and losing their rights to press access or exclusive scoops.

4. Kerry needs to keep calling them out on this
The other thing that is driving me nuts is that the press is still pretending that Kerry doesn't have a clear position on Iraq. His position is really not that fucking difficult, people.

I like that shotgun analogy a DU-er posted a few days ago. "I gave the president the authority to load the gun, but it was his decision to aim and fire it, and that's where he went WRONG."

Or something like that....

7. This is good tho
It's another example of how bush is a total fuck-up. His own worst enemy every frigging time;

He bent over backwards to tie Iraq to his stupid "war on terra". That was when people thought Iraq would be a breeze and a huge "mission accomplished".

But NOW, the majority of Americans give bush a FAILING rate on IRAQ and the ONLY plus rating he gets is his "war on terra".

So now that Iraq is doing soooo badly, and tied into his "war on terra" in peoples' minds, it's also bringing down his "terra" rating too.

heh. :D

So hey, keep Iraq and his stupid "war on terra" tied together in the idiots' minds, coz then you just point to IRAQ as an undisputable example of how bush is Fa failure on "war on terra". :)

10. They do it because it's so easy, and it works
I am outraged every time I see a report on Iraq with the banner "War on Terror" (FOX or CNN, can't remember where I saw that recently).
