maybe we could use neurolinguistic programing against them.

Cheney used the ultimate appeal to voter's survivalism this past week. He said something like, "if you vote for Kerry, we'll get hit again." NLP manipulates the lowest common denomenater of the brain. . .the reptilian brain. . . which murmers, "eat or be eaten." It rules the fight or flight impulse as well.

Over and over, they create the illusion that they have made us safer, when in truth, enraging 1/3 of the world's population and basically annoying another 1/2 has only fanned the flames of reactionary extremism.

Fundamentally, we have to hone our message into sound bites. In a world of ever increasing complexity that's fairly tough to do. We have to think in terms of sound bites. Yes it has come to this.

But here are a few. . .

OBL & Saddam were empowered under Republican administrations.

* presided over an administration that ignored the threat of terrorism for 9 months.

Iraq is a hot bed of insurrection and Afghanistan, controlled mostly by opium dealers and warlords, are by no means free.

No one can inspire democracy unless they truly embody one.

Rampant anti-American sentiments do not make us safer.

Underfunding homeland security and massive disarray in our departments of so-called intelligence (aka pre-emptive war based on bad intelligence= shear stupidity) does not make us safer.

Feel free to add more. . .as brevity is not my strong suit.

1. We can't kill everyone who hates us enough to do us harm

2. Yes, as Victor Laszlo so wisely said,
"even Nazis can't kill that fast."

5. We've been in one big awake-hypnotic trance since 9/11
We're like Jews in the concentration camps. Even with this hurricane, Ivan. People frightened to death into buying sheets and sheets of plywood, and now it looks as if the storm may skirt up the coast.

You're right, we need some trance breakers.

4. on the theme
Not necessarily original or short...

80% of the people in the world hate Bush. They will forgive us for electing him once, but not twice. How are we safer when the whole world hates us?

Our childrens' futures are being buried in a sea of red ink. Every man woman and child in the US is now $25,000 in debt. Can your family pay its share? Can your children pay yours? The top 1% can but they got 50% of the tax cuts which increased the debt.

Why are we building schools in Iraq and closing them here?

Got WMD? (my sig line when I email GOP "friends")

Where's Osama?

6. yeah I agree, this sound bite speech totally eludes me
but you get my point. This is something that * is masterful at.
Kerry is a renaissance dude, he has a real problem in terms of speaking in sound bites. Let's just keep cranking 'em, and maybe someone in his campaign will notice. Who knows. . .?

The "made America safer" is the meme we have to obliterate.
Look at the death rates of the last 4 years. It's really sorrowful.
The world is not at all safer under you Mr. Bush, people world wide are simply, pissed as hell. Arghhhhh.
