Bumper sticker 'survey' - Pittsburgh to Bristol, CT: I was the only Dem.
Traveling from Pittsburgh to Bristol (CT) on Friday, let me say from the outset that *my* (five) anti-Bush stickers were the ONLY ones to see in 8.5 hours of travel. I saw numerous 'Bush-Cheney '04' stickers and 'The cost of freedom is not free' printed on yellow ribbons (stickers). Oh, I also saw a couple of Confederate flag and Marines stickers. I realize that Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are heavily Democratic areas, but for the rest of Pennsylvania, I was in apparent Reichwing hell.

For those who are curious, this was my driving route: Rte. 279N, 79N, 80E, 81N, 84E. Wilkes-Barre is particularly conservative, according to my sticker 'tally.'

I stopped to get coffee in Milford, (Eastern) PA. There was a tobacco/souvenir shop with 'George Bush is MY president' sign, Confederate Flags, and Reichwing stickers in the window. Needless to say, I skipped the coffee.

On a positive note, most cars parked on the block where I stayed in Pittsburgh had pro-Kerry, anti-Bush stickers.

1. I've seen two bush stickers in NJ in the last two months!
In both cases I got alongside the cars to see what kinds of jerks they were. When I got close, though, I saw one car was from Nebraska and the other, a pickup, was from Pennsylvania.

The PA truck was actually a printout the guy had done off his computer. It was Kerry with two faces and accusing him of being a flip flopper.

4. I've often heard Pennsylvania described as Philadelphia
at one end and Pittsburgh at the other end and Alabama in the middle.

From your tally of all the morons on the road, that sounds just about right.

Let's hope they're outnumbered morons.

5. To be fair ...
Kerry stickers out number Bush stickers in Pittsburgh by at least 5 to 1. And I still defend my right not to put one on my car. I don't think it's indicative of anything. Some people like to keep their opinions to themselves (not me, of course), but it doesn't mean that they don't know what's good for them.

6. In Central Oregon
long a conservative stronghold the Kerry Edwards bumper stickers and signs out number Bushit 5:1. They are stealing the K/E yard signs on a nightly basis...and we keep replacing them.

I've seen two, 'Defend America. Defeat Bush.' bumperstickers, one 'W' with a circle slash and one odd bumpersticker with four Indigenous Americans holding weapons with 'Homeland Security' on the top and 'Defending America from Terrorists since 1692.' on the bottom. It made me laugh. Haven't seen any 'Bush/Cheney's' for weeks.

9. Are you guys seeing something that is like growing like weeds??
In spring I saw my first car with this yellow ribbon decal (not ribbon but a decal with "support our troops" on it). I now cannot park in a parking lot without having at least one car next to me that has one on if not both!! I don't know who's pushing these (certain churches maybe??). I assume that 99% of them mean "I'm voting Bush". Where are they coming from and maybe that would give me a clue.

15. El Paso, TX...
Signs and bumper stickers are just now starting to show up..only seen 1 * sticker and the license was OK..several Kerry stickers. Postman stopped DH the other day because we have Kerry signs up in yard to share that he was voting for Kerry, as well. I'm a teacher and I can say that I haven't talked to anyone who is voting for * and only 1 who is still not sure. Our little part of TX usually goes Democratic...:)
