Kerry 'Flip-Flops' but Bush 'reverses positions'
How come Kerry hasn't confronted this pejorative term for what Bush has done repeatedly and used so effectively to define Kerry.

Instead of calling Bush the REAL 'Flip-Flopper' Kerry has let Bush's insults stick to him and define him because he hasn't attacked him back (Bush would have, believe me).... I have been infuriated that Kerry hasn't co-opted 'Flip-Flopper' because it has really hurt him (there's no other explanation why voters haven't flocked to him when they are so dissatisfied with Bush)... He should be calling Bush the Mother of All Flip-Floppers and repeating it like a mantra until November 2nd.

Here is a catalogue of Bush Flip-Flops, though I don't believe it's been updated to include the War-on-Terror- Can/Can't be won Flip-Flop, or the 9-11 Commission recommendations (multiple) Flip-FLops, or Cheney's Flip-Flop about a terrorist attack if Americans make the "wrong choice" for president.

Anyone agree?

1. Kerry has a whole bit of his stump
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 09:10 PM by BillyBunter
speech where he talks about Bush flip flops, and ends with the line, "Now you tell me who the flip flopper is." This is yet another instance of people talking about a subject they don't know anything about.

3. No need to be snide, Mr. Bunter
I obviously haven't seen it. I look forward to receiving more pearls of wisdom from such well-informed individuals as yourself.

Anyway, glad to hear it but I don't hear it as a talking point or haven't seen an ad on this theme (oops, will I catch another scolding from the knowlegable Mr. Bunter?).

I guess I would like it repeated as a theme with the same emphasis the Republicans are using- they've obviously been more effective since the pejorative has stuck to Kerry- so far.

8. Absolutely right. Dems have allowed the Flip-Flop charge to stand. There
was no forcefull counter-attack against the initial "UNPRINCIPLED"
Rove attack. That was the failure of the campaign that opened the
door to the basic theme of the entire Republican attack.

it's just that the liberal media does not want you to know about it to protect their chosen one.

6. Personally, I don't have a high opinion on anyone who is incapable
of changing their minds, as new information and events dictate. The rigid ideologue who is unable to change his mind when the world changes is a threat to us all.

7. Media is "enabling" the flip flop label....Friday on Lehrer, David Brooks,
when confronted with Cheney's retraction of his outrageous statement about how we will be attacked by Terrorists if Kerry wins, said that he just misspoke, and later clarified himself....and SHIELDS AND LEHRER LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THE STATEMENT instead of asking why Kerry is accused of flip flopping when he is misquoted or clarifying, yet * and Cheney can misspeak and it is just a correction.....AS LONG AS THE MEDIA IS COMPLICIT IN THIS GAME, NEITHER KERRY OR ANY OF US CAN DO ANYTHING TO REVERSE THIS!!!!!
