Can Kerry donate campaign funds to Florida hurricane victims?
It's probably illegal and he really doesn't have the money to spare, but what better way to woo undecideds in a crucial swing state than by showing your compassion and donating some of your much needed campaign money?

It would show that Kerry will rise above politics to care for the American people, something Bush would never do.

Probably illegal though huh?

1. Well, I think the Heinz-Kerrys might have a few bucks to spare

Good idea... I'm sure they could donate $20 Million or so of their OWN private funds without breaking the bank.

THAT would go a long way. Makes me kind of sick when millionaire rock stars and movie stars do events where they get US to donate money instead of digging into their own pockets.

4. Mama T should be able to do anything

she wants to do.

I like that name because it implies that she will "listen and be there for you if you need her."

I think it would be entirely proper for Theresa and Elizabeth Edwards and some of the older kids to do something to show support.
They will know when the time is right. Maybe they don''t even have to announce their arrival to the general public. Just come in quietly,do their good works and then leave.

I don't think being ice ladies would be nice.
I think giving money would be viewed as trying to buy votes.

I think it should not be a photo op,like that effort with the ice with Bush. Thank God the people were able to get ice however.

Because the two ladies are so compassionate, it would be natural for them to give of themselves. That is what they do best.

I heard on the news that the mental trauma and stress are just too much for those left in shelters. Because Theresa and Elizabeth have lost family members, they may do best by giving some good old fashion hugs. And they could just sit and listen privately to small groups - no cameras.

I would also suggest that they could donate blankets to the children's hospitals or little huggy bears for the children.
Everyone, especially children, needs to have something to hold on to in times like this.

God bless you Florida.

2. Campaign funds? No. But Ice would be better.
And he could photo-op like * did, but make sure the ice trucks show up well BEFORE he does.
