I thought Bush didnt want to panic children on 9/11
Im watching the CNN special where the CNN reporters are giving their accounts of the day...the argument of the neocons has always been that Bush didnt go anywhere for 7 minutes after being told we were under attack because he didnt want to panic the children...however, this special reminded me of something...after the reading of My Pet Goat, he gave a statement - IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL CHILDREN where he said that we had suffered a national trajedy, that 2 planes have hit the world trade center towers in an apparant terroorist attack. If he didnt want to panic the children, WHY THE HELL was this statement made minutes later IN FRONT OF THE CHILDREN?? And Most of all...Why have the democrats not pointed this out??

3. that is one of the biggest clues that it was LIHOP to me
Because -

a. One would assume that if the country was under attack, the president would be a target ....

b. It was well-known where the president was that day, since it was a PR stunt.

c. the president did NOT get the hell out of there, but sat on his ass not only for seven minutes, but then gave a fucking press conference in front of the school full of CHILDREN.

The only thing one can infer from this is:

a. Bush is so damn stupid that he should have been fired on the spot or

b. He knew he wasn't a target. There's only one way he could have known he wasn't a target, and that's LIHOP or MIHOP.

Please explain what this means? I've asked before but haven't received a reply. Thanks in advance.

10. LIHOP and MIHOP =
Let It Happen On Purpose
and
Made It Happen On Purpose

Code for the theories that Bush either had prior knowledge of, and did nothing to prevent 9/11 (LIHOP), or was an active agent in plotting the event (MIHOP).

17. #1 is pretty damning
Barring LIHOP/MIHOP, with the obvious truth of #1, his staying with those schoolchildren put them at risk.

What's worse ... scaring schoolchildren, or putting them at risk by your proximity?

I don't understand why that isn't the standard response to the whole "he didn't want to scare the children" bullshit. :grr:

26. Not to mention the Florida National Guard being called up the day
before. They went to almost Marshal Law Status the day before 9-11 and I have never heard an official justification for that act.

4. It was brought up. It was also brought up that the
first thing the secret service are supposed to do is whisk the pResident off to a safe location no matter what anybody says. I also brought up the fact that the secret service approved of the first lady Laura and daughters going to the very building that was targeted for an attack. Bush said on 9/11 that the secret service overruled him on returning to Wash DC until it was safe and he was "out of harm's way". Why didn't the secret service overrule Laura and twins? This group isn't really hard to figure out, but if the media doesn't ask these questions, then they just get lost in the "Texas shuffle".

16. "the first thing the secret service are supposed to do
is whisk the pResident off to a safe location no matter what anybody says."

That has bothered me from moment one. There is no way in hell he should have been ALLOWED to sit in a classroom full of children, because

1. If he was a target, everyone knew where he was
2. The children are targets with him
3. secret service should have bundled him off ASAP, no matter the location or circumstances, no question. Ever.

The lack of standard procedure and logic kicking in all the way down the line, all over the map, was staggering. The pat reasons given later don't make sense. It just boggles the mind.

9. They changed their story
Not wanting to scare the children is no longer operative. For the 9/11 report they insisted on saying he wanted to show calm and strength or some such wording.

M/LIHOP

he said he saw the first plane hit while in his limo...

um...the first plane hit couldn't be seen on TV unless someone happened to have a live feed of the WTC while it happened...

and if I saw a plane hit the twin towers and I was the president, I would think twice about doing a photo-op and maybe make some phonecalls...

24. Interesting Point.............But why ask Bush the question at all
Because as you well know, all you'll get is more flabber no matter how it gets put to Bush. Totally useless as a political jab.

Nope, But it makes more sense if you put the issue (Bush's Pet Goat Moment(s)) together as if you were on "Jeopardy".

In other words;

"What is trying not to show how scared you are to both the children in the room and the cameras filming your every move?"

Answer: Spending 7 minutes pretending to read children's book while looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

25. What about this quote?
Shrub was asked what he thought when he was told the first plane hit the tower. He replied " that is one bad pilot" Not a thought about all the lives that were lost in that hit?
