Kerry labels president as scaremonger
AFP , ST LOUIS, MISSOURI
Sunday, Sep 12, 2004,Page 7

"Why is George Bush making the job of the terrorists easier and making the job for America's police officers harder?"

John Kerry, Democratic presidential nominee

Democratic White House challenger Senator John Kerry on Friday accused US President George W. Bush's administration of trying to scare Americans over the war on terror.

Speaking on the eve of commemorations for the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington, Kerry said the battle against terrorism should be more than a political battle in the US.

Kerry told an election rally in St Louis, Missouri, that the administration was "talking about the war on terror, trying to scare Americans.

1. ...and it's not working...
This is another of Kerry's bonehead moves, in my opinion. The people who aren't scared agree with him already. The people who ARE scared are scared and don't believe that Bush's statements are unfounded or designed to promote fear.

It's a completely asinine tack to take.

5. Well, we can only hope the "bonehead" wins.
Thank God, you've got his back.

6. Agreed...the "bonehead" should win.
I've only "got his back" as far as wanting Bush out of office extends. He wasn't my choice of candidate, he continues to make mistakes, and he represents exactly what's wrong with our Party.

I'm voting for him because I'm a Democrat and I'm committed to getting this administration out of power, but I'm obviously not a great fan of Kerry.

7. I'm sure you're helping him get a lot of votes, though.
Right?

8. Two, so far (they wouldn't have voted)
I've talked them into voting for Kerry. It's not many, but if all of us just got 2 non-voters to vote for Kerry, things would look pretty good.

2. Have you noticed no terra alert color changes lately?
I thought for sure we would see one during the RNC and on 9/11.

Its been pretty quiet. My guess, Rove has ordered Ridge to cool it for now. Going to orange kind of steps on the Bush talking point that we are safer.

9. I think it is exactly what needs to be said..............
Best thing Kerry can do is try to get this country to spaz down about this terror thing and put it back at the bottom of their list like it was for about 2 years (until Bush started spewing it a month ago). In fact an excellent approach is to say "if you are afraid, the terrorist's have won; if Bush is trying to make you afraid, he is helping the terrorist win." Kerry needs to bring them back down off the ceiling and into some realm of common sense.
