4. It does a great job of showing what a petulant and incompetent moran W is

also spends a lot of time in explaining why * seeks his fathers approval, and the role that need for approval has had on the policy decisions he's made.

2. I have seen it
And I would recommend it. Richard Dreyfuss is excellent.

6. It is pretty good as a film, not great as a political tool or anything -
I had a chance to see it a few times at work. The acting is pretty good, Josh Brolin especially, who is one of my favorite actors. However it is ultimately a kind of shallow look at Bush's life. And it definitely doesn't go into the crimes of his administration. Still, I think it's worth renting and checking out if you need some Friday night entertainment.

If you want a more in depth look at W and his cronies and how their personalities and relationships shaped their horrible policies, then I recommend getting "The Bush Tragedy" by Jacob Weisberg. Excellent book, I don't doubt that Stone drew from it in his portrayals.

Powerful film. Not at all a polemic; just the true story of this disastrous president. It really affected me, even though I knew almost everything they presented; Brolin's acting was astonishing, revealing, and scary as hell. Dreyfuss nailed Cheney. It's totally worth seeing.

8. It was filled with wonderful actors who were given sub-par material to work with...
I think it could have been a good movie, if not a great one. But it was neither. It was interesting, frustrating, and far more worth renting than paying full movie ticket prices.

Don't expect to be satisfied, though. Of course, I'm no authority. I was dying to see the movie and I'm still amazed at Dryfuss' (sp?) ability to "be" Cheney and Grolin's perfect pitch in voice and portrayal. A third of the way through, several people walked out, and I was even tempted to - and I can't remember ever having that feeling before.

It's worth seeing, but it's not in any way remarkable, other than what the actors did with their roles, despite the lack of substance in the story. It was frustrating, primarily because you could just tell that this could have been a good - maybe very good - film if they'd been given something to work with.

I'd much rather spend a couple of bucks renting it than paying full price for it in the theater. I would NOT recommend that... definitely rent it.

9. Good acting and great actors were wasted on a film...
...during which I feel asleep.

IMO, it is worth it to see Dreyfess as Cheney ~~ he is a better Cheney than Cheney himself!

11. I thought it was pretty interesting.
It portrays Bush as a somewhat personally decent, narcissistic, but woefully inadequate man who, because of his family connections, and innate talent for gutter politics, was able to get into a position that he never, ever, in any sane world should have held.
