A conversation with one of Bartcop's monkey-mailers
Yesterday I saw that a ditto had sent Bartcop a note about the memos. This was the note...

In 1972, Microsoft Word didn't exist, that's true.

In 1972, the IBM Selectric Composer typewriter did exist--and it was capable of producing the memoranda you freepers have been calling fraudulent, exactly as they appear.

It can use Times Roman type.
It can make the superscripted 'th' you guys are screaming about.
It can even justify text on both the left and right margins!

You may want to do this--download the PDF of the "CYA" memo and zoom in on the lowercase e that's scattered liberally throughout the memo. It's raised up off the baseline. The lowercase e gets the most use, so the little nub on the bottom of the ball that corresponds to lowercase e could have worn down a little, which would have made the typewriter lift the character up a little too high--those balls are just aluminum and they wear out eventually. Microsoft Word can't do that.

As a long-term professional printer, I think they're real. To be sure I'd have to see the originals, but these look real.

The ditto monkey sent me this:

Why wasn't it signed and why was it written 1 1/2 years after he left the military? How come his son said it wasn't his Father that wrote it?

I went back and read the CYA memo--it looks like Bush left the service with no OER because rating deserters is hard, and someone above him was screaming for a favorable OER on Bush.

So I sent the ditto monkey this:

On the date--typo? In a hurry to knock it out? Hell I don't know. Like you never made a typo. And my colonels wrote a LOT of paperwork they never signed. You generally don't worry about signing quick notes to yourself, which this looks like it was.

later I amended my comment to explain the late date.

I don't put any stock in his son's claim either; he wouldn't have known everything his dad did.

Now I ask you:

1. Where was Bush when he was supposed to be in the Alabama National Guard? The only proof we have that he was there was dental records.

2. How many times has Bush been arrested? We know it's at least three.

3. Why did Bush all but ignore the threat of terrorism until the morning of September 11, 2001? The Bush administration had exactly two meetings about terrorism. Clinton's national security advisor told them terror in general and Osama bin Laden specifically would take up most of their time.

4. Explain Bush's involvement in the Willie Horton ad.

5. Karl Rove's favorite dirty campaign tactic is forging documents critical of his candidate then releasing them to gain his candidate sympathy. In his first campaign, he even committed the crime of breaking and entering to steal stationery on which to forge documents. The White House released the documents in question. If these are forgeries, prove Karl Rove didn't create them.

6. The White House has not claimed these to be forgeries. If in fact they were forgeries, why has the White House not denounced them?

7. Where in hell are the TONS of WMD Bush used as justification for going to war? The WMD found so far were duds from the Iran-Iraq War, so do not insult your intelligence by claiming these finds are "proof" he had an ongoing program.

8. Bush is running around right now claiming that if he was ordered to go to Vietnam, he would have. How does this jive with his checking the "do not volunteer for overseas service" block on his enlistment form or his choice to train to fly an aircraft type that had been removed from Vietnam?

9. Did Bush skip his mandatory flight physical because the Air Force had started testing pilots for drugs, to include inspecting their nasal cavities for evidence of cocaine use?

10. Why does Bush look like he's either drunk or hung over half the time?

1. I can answer #10 -
He looks that way because he is.

You're a better person than I am. I can't debate with them, they make me sick. All I can do is slam them, which gets me kicked off a lot of political forums.

2. I figure he'll respond with a bunch of crap about Clinton or Kerry.
To which I shall reply:

None of the questions I asked you were about either President Clinton or Senator Kerry. I answered your questions.

I asked you ten questions about President George W. Bush. Please answer them.
