3. I wish...
I could make Kerry do what I wanted, lol.

Clark is the best at articulating, clearly, what should be the "position" on Iraq. I watched his speech at Johns Hopkins on Thursday and thought: he is stating Kerry's position better than Kerry. Now, I love Wes, he was my guy, but I would be happier if it were Kerry doing this right now. It just seems to come out too muddled when asked about what he is going to do differently, and the polls back that up. People don't know what he is going to do.

6. I saw Wes Clark on Thursday....
he was fantastic. He should be put forward as Kerry's Secretary of State, so that people will understand that what he is saying will be the administration's policy. I admit that I am subjective, as Wes was the candidate I backed in the primaries. Yet it is clear he could give a HUGE boost to the Kerry-Edwards campaign.

"It just seems to come out too muddled when asked about what he is going to do differently..."

This was the familiar refrain I heard yesterday while canvassing potential Dem voters who are apathetic about Kerry. They want him to stand up, clearly take a position and not back down. "Wishy-washy" was the term I heard used when some voters described their feelings about Kerry on the issues.

BTW -- Don't shoot the messenger, folks, this is just what I heard while making the rounds yesterday in a very solid blue-collar neighborhood. Some folks are still waiting for the real John Kerry to stand up and be counted, and to really fight back when attacked by Rethugs.

5. He always smacks it right of the park
Did you see Wes at Johns Hopkins on C-Span yesterday & last night?

He explained why he opposed the war, & explained why Kerry voted for IWR. It was beautiful.

Was great:

"It's not congress that mislead the President into war, it's the President that mislead congress into war!"

It was one of the best lectures of his I've ever seen, and my VCR was on the fritz.

12. What I really loved about the speech was Wes
explaining how the Dems can challenge the Repubs...they have to be a FULL SERVICE PARTY...making people safe at home with education, health care, etc., but they need to make our people & our country safe in the world & defend our country against threats.

I watched his speech 3 times...& I would watch it again.

9. This guy is getting stronger everyday- I supported him in the Primary
didn't make it to my state - but contributed to his campaign. It is shame he could not have developed earlier He should have been put in the bull pin earlier by the Dems. I am feeling frustrated by Kerry. He is looking more like a defeatist elitist - like Mondale and Dukasis more and more. I hate that because I hate Bush- I want Bush gone damn it. If these people let him get another term- I will be pissed- they should never get another chance. What is with all this Mass advisers, People their are exposed to a much more gentle form of politics. All these Kennedy advisers have never had to fight a serious fight. Clinton had to come in 94 to help Kennedy- the time he faced a "serious" threat from the current Governor. Kerry had Clinton come in 96, a state the President was in no danger of losing, because he was getting trouble from Bill Weld. People are waiting for the debates- I saw a Cspan debate between Kerry and Weld in 96 and was not impressed with .. Kerry.
