Impeach Bush
Okay, go with me here for a second. On the off chance that BoyGeorge is re-elected in November, I would be interested in hearing a true bill of particulars that could lead to articles of impeachment. As much as I would love to see his beady little eyes and vacant, smarmy smirk included on the list, I know that would not work toward the objective of getting Bush out. He is corrupt, lying and buying this election. We cannot afford four more years. That said...

I, also, know that if the republicans retain control of the House and Senate there is no snowball's chance in hell of actually getting an impeachment BUT what would American voters feel if they thought that after the election we would be faced with a war aboard, lousy economy, social issues not being addressed AND impeachment hearings? Would that affect their voting decisions BEFORE the election. (Good God - who in their right mind would want to even think of Cheney as next in line?) Anyone who remembers the country during the 1972 presidential election and the ensuing chaos in the country after Nixon won that election would NOT want a repeat. Nixon was so busy trying to fight a war in Viet Nam, smear protesters against the war, hiring and firing special prosecutors, and had a "hit squad" in the White House to cover-up his administration's misdeeds in Watergate the government effectively ground to a virtual halt. Does any of this sound familiar? It would set back the GOP for another decade - would they still be willing to drink the Kool Aid for Bush in that scenario?

So - what do we have that can honestly be raised to discuss impeachment of this bastard? I would like to hear what DUs think have real legs toward outing the asshole before it is too late.

1. One would think that proceedings would be easily started
when adultry was good enough grounds not so many years ago... however I believe you have already answered why it is an exercise in futility: Repug control of the House and Senate. IMO

4. I agree it would never get to the House
I think it could be an issue BEFORE the election - especially for anyone who remembers 1972 and 1973 - which Bush probably doesn't.

>>President George W. Bush, Vice President Richard B. Cheney, Secretary of Defense Donald H.

of the people of the United States and other nations, by assuming powers of an imperial

3. How about treason
which I believe is what one would classify the outing of a deep cover CIA agent as.

5. How about treason?
Lets go and indict him for treason for disobeying a direct order from his superior in the military. I don't think there is any statute of limitation on treason. We can organize this campaign on GWsucks.com

7. I was thinking about what would happen
if * was selected again. I think that after the dust settles after the election, people are going to stop and look around and wonder what in the he** they did, what were the thinking. I think the media (except fox) will also see what they did and wonder how they could give up so much of their credibility. Some of the big players in the senate and house will not give in, but I think many of the more moderate republicans will also look around and see the mess they made. Right now it is like everyone is manic and scared and scared of the strong-arm tactics of the BFEE, but I truely believe that afterwards some sort of normalcy and decency will build. I think if * looses he will not be put on trial, but I think if he wins he will be impeached and have to go on trial for his actions. If that were to happen, you will see people turning on him and doing anything to keep their own butts safe. At least that is MHO.
