Kerry says Powell admitted no 9-11/Iraq Link
From the Kerry website:
http://blog.johnkerry.com/blog/archives/002794.html#more

John Kerry released the following statement today commenting on an interview with Secretary of State Colin Powell dealing with Iraq that was broadcast this morning.

“Today, Secretary Powell came clean with the American people about the lack of a connection between Iraq, Saddam Hussein and the September 11th attacks. Despite repeated claims from Vice President Cheney, including as recently as last Friday, Secretary Powell today told the American public in no uncertain terms that there is no evidence of a link between Saddam and al-Qaeda in the 9/11 attacks.

“Secretary Powell has told the truth. It’s wrong for others in this administration to continually mislead the American people about a link that doesn’t exist. Dick Cheney continues to intentionally mislead the American public by drawing a link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11 in an attempt to make the invasion of Iraq part of the global war on terror. The president needs to answer the question: Who do you think is right? Vice President Cheney or Secretary Powell? And if it’s Secretary Powell, will you direct your vice president to stop misleading the American people?
“On an issue of such importance where U.S. troops are bearing nearly 90 percent of the burden, and American taxpayers are paying $200 billion and counting, the administration has an especially solemn obligation to conduct itself in an honest and straightforward way. Unfortunately, in its desperate attempts to reinvent a rationale for the Iraq war, this White House has repeatedly chosen to mislead the American people.”

3. Cheney is lying and the Army War College says it is so
I work for print media so I cannot distribute these myself.

WE THE PEOPLE can create an issue that brings the media to us using viral and guerilla marketing techniques. Guerilla marketing means we disseminate our message using non-traditional delivery systems. Viral marketing means that the message creates buzz and it propagates exponentially. The computer ushered in the age of print and web based media accessibility to the masses. We are paying a lot of attention to online media and ignoring the most far reaching: PRINT MEDIA.
An example of an effective 8 x 10 print piece highlighting Bush's failure and most importantly MOCKING him in the process:

4. He needs to go beyond his blog with this statement. It just sounds like
a defense of Powell and not an attack on Bush...Wonder if the Kerry Campaign Ops will push on this tomorrow. Do a press conference..???

5. Nah, he's playing one of them agsinst the others
I don't know if it'll work, but it coiuld make a dent to point out that a "respected" administration official is admitting that 9/11 and Iraq are not directly linked while Bush Inc. is saying the opposite.

8. A message worth trumpeting! And was picked up by local radio here
Their token 20 words about the K/E campaign was about how E said that now that Powell has admitted that they are not linked, that put it to rest. We need to stay on that message. As hell continues to break loose in Iraq, it will be seen for what it really is -- A DISTRACTION from the "real" war!
