Kerry/Edwards Takes Offensive - Video Online
Now on my home channel on http://BushLies2.Us , Kerry and Edwards take offensive and hold Powell accountable for his 'no iraq/9-11' comments as proof that the iraq war has NOTHING to do with the war on terrorism. FINALLY a smart offensive move that focuses on the issues voters care about. This is what we needed.

4. on-line video?
BFD. This will be seem by about .01% of the people who see the swift boat liars' ad.

We're fighting tanks with jeeps, B2's with tri-planes, M-16's with Derringers.

We suck at this.

7. umm..
4000 people downloaded the previous video, plus these are all recorded off of major news networks seen by millions, this just boosts the distribution. From here they get thrown on nit torrent and p2p networks and other websites.
Pessimistic fool.

10. You are right
We - or more correctly, Kerry's campaign - sucks at this. I'm depressed about our chances. Maria Bartriromo (spelling?) was on Matthews this AM. She predicted a Bush landslide. I think she's going to be correct. The nails in the coffin for me were: No reaction to the Barnes interview in the mainstream press that I saw. I know, I know, the mainstream press is Repub biased. I agree. But we still NEED them to run with these type of stories. And the next nail? Kerry's campaign is planning to do something "dramatic" soon. Are they kidding? This Barnes story is gold. It took the Swift Boat Liars a month of their despicable lies to hurt Kerry. If it takes a month to hurt Bush by hammering away with THE TRUTH that would be a month well spent!

Resign yourselves, fellow DUers. It looks like 4 more years of Bush.

Hillary in 2008?

12. i think the political landscape will be much different in 2008
* is so corrupt and incompetent that lots of really bad things are going to happen in the next four years - the economy, iraq (iran, syria, palestine), unemployment, health care availability and affordability, and media bias are all going to get much worse very soon, and i think even the most insane Limbeciles are going to start to wonder. many historians are comparing this era to the late 1850's, and imo the same sort of resolution will take place.

14. N/S
As usual, doctor, your posts are among the most reasonable and insightful. Goes with your profession, perhaps? I do wonder at times if you and I are a little bit older than others posting here. I'm 50. Now that is not a slap at the youngers. In fact I hope that's the case. We need as many younger libs as we can get.

Anyway, 60 Minutes tonight made no mention of the Barnes interview, the Rather story on the memos, etc. Neither have I heard anything from Kerry's camp. They are floundering, doctor. As to how different the political landscape will be in 2008, I don't know. But W can't run again. Jeb might if the family remains obsessed with the Presidency. My point is that after 2008 there will be a new President and at this time it's anybody's game.

Other Duers, if you're thinking it's too early to think about 2008, I respectfully disagree. Also, we need to take a lesson from the Repubs. I'm talking about how they behave when they LOSE. They get enraged and do whatever they can to wreak havoc on the WINNER. They refuse to accept that they lost. And sadly, it works. So if they win in 2004 I hope the Dems attack with a vengeance. But, sigh, they won't. They'll whimper and plead with W to not be mad at them for having the audacity to actually have someone run against him. They'll beg him to play nice. And W will stomp on their faces. And you know what? They'll deserve it.

15. I just am of the opinion
at this point that the inertia of the the anti-American forces that run our country (the BFEE, hate radio, Tom Delay, the fundies, cable "news") is so strong that we won't be able to divert its course through normal means (elections and the like). It's going to have to burn itself out. Hopefully the damage to the infrastructure will not be insurmountable, and the rebuilding will be relatively swift. the sad part is that it took 150 years or so to be the best nation ever, which then had a lifspan of 50 years or so, and now the repubs have managed to sink it in one generation. If you don't think these people are evil, just consider this one fact: they have managed to make the electorate believe that the 20th century in America was a FAILURE. It was the greatest 100 years of any civilization EVER, yet we are running AWAY from our record of that 100 years.

FWIW, I don't think it matters that much who wins the WH in November. Shoudl Kerry overcome the media, Rove and Diebold, he will have to try and get something done while battling a hostile congress, scotus, and media, so it will be difficult to even patch the holes * has made. A major success would be just repairing our foreign relationships to where we are not seen as the world's enemy. That step would make the rebuilding of the country alot easier.

I am almost 48 years old, and, frankly, after overcoming VN, gaining civil rights, surviving Nixon, and rebuilding the economy after Reagan, I thought this country could withstand anything. But the Rove/BFEE/Ailes/Clear Channel/Delay/Scalia juggernaut has proven too formidable an opponent. Luckily for us, their corruption and icompetence will being their demise sooner rather than later, and the next american resurrection will be even better. I am just going to watch from a safe distance.

8. GREAT TACTIC
edwards seized upon statements made by powell today on MTP, powell said there is no connection between 9/11 and iraq and said cheney has contradicted powell.

WH says..."there is no powell/cheney split"

this could get interesting.

13. WH calls it a "flailing attack"
Flailing is the action of an executive administration in schism, not of those who point out the fact of that schism. The fact is that the WH will do anything and say anything to make John Kerry look bad.
