Reaction To My "Bush Is Over" Shirt -- DAMN, He IS Over!
Wore my new "Bush Is Over" shirt yesterday and was amazed at the reaction! All day people were giving me the thumbs up.

Anybody wanted to meet people, I recommend getting one of these shirts!! I have never had such a reaction to any piece of clothing I've ever worn.

I must disclaim that I live in L.A. and most people hate him here anyhow HOWEVER -- yesterday I picked a friend up at the airport and took her to her hotel, and most of the people who talked to me were from OUT OF STATE including two girls in the hotel elevator from Nashville and an older couple from FL.

IT SEEMED LIKE EVERY OTHER PERSON, I SWEAR TO GOD, MADE A POINT OF SAYING "AMEN" OR "GOD I HOPE SO."

The "popular president" thing is a myth, don't buy it. Don't buy the bogus polls. He's going down. SAY IT!! HE'S GOING DOWN.

BUSH...IS...OVER!!

11. I Should Mention, It Took 2 Weeks For It To Come....
much longer than most internet orders. Either they're a new start-up and not up to speed, or they're getting pummelled with orders, or both! But be aware that it's a slow delivery if you're thinking of ordering.

4. Over and out
No argument from me. I've mentioned a number of times over the last month that Kerry going directly to the people is genius. TV can't be controlled, ads fade away, but a personal appearance has incredible impact. Word of mouth advertising is still the best way to sell.

LIAR IS GOING DOWN IN FLAMES!!!

5. I'd love to wear a shirt like that, but I live in N TX and work in SW OK
Bible belt and Bush-Cheney country...I don't know if I'd get more thumps-up or extended middle fingers.

However, I've read THREE totally Bush-bashing letters in my local newspaper this weekend. They were kicking Bush's ass big time. And a person working for the same organization made some really positive comments about my anti-Bush bumper stickers. So, there is hope...

I live in North Texas and wear anti-* Pro Kerry stuff all the time. The majority of people give me thumbs up. The sheepel at worst turn away and mutter. My favorite has a picture of Sitting Bull and a few friends the tile HOMELAND SECURITY

15. I can't wear any political stuff to work
I work at an University. I wouldn't appreciate seeing a co-worker wearing anything pro-Bush.

Driving my little Toyota Corolla with 2 anti-Bush and one John Kerry bumper sticker is sometimes a nightmare. Lots of huge Pick-Up trucks and SUVs who get awfully close to my rear-bumper.

14. I've never been a tinfoil hatter, but . . .
. . . I'm just beginning to wonder if we aren't being set up somehow.

If Bush can somehow prove that he's likely to win the election (with rigged polls), then when Diebold steals the vote, no one will have any basis from which to challenge anything.

Scary.

Won't the Exit Polls have to SOMEWHAT match with "official" results?

I am hoping that it is not close enough to steal, although, at this point it's definitely possible.

The exit polls in Florida indicated a big win for Gore in 2000.

13. actual prospects
In my gut I feel that this is going to be close, and that all of us who are working with regard to the campaign need to keep at it formally or informally, But I do believe that Kerry can win it.

A new poll is out here in South Dakota. It shows Bush winning by 13 points--but he won South Dakota in 2000 by 23 points. If there is that much of a shift in the country as a whole, Kerry wins.

The presidency is not the only important race, however. We expect a close House race, and a close Senate race here, and I think the Democrats can win them both.

Democrat Tim Johnson won a Senate race here by 528 votes.

Democrat Stephanie Herseth lost to former governor William Janklow here in 2000 by 7 points. Janklow resigned after being convicted of manslaughter and Herseth won a June 1 special election to fill out the rest of his term on June 1 by 3005 votes. She now faces the same opponent that she beat on June 1.

If anything close to these shifts is happening nationwide, Democrats will do very well.

But we do have to keep working!

35. I live in a long-time red state
that is unlikely to give electoral votes to Kerry unless he wins in a landslide, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a lot of good work to be done here in NC.

Even if we don't win the state, everybody we convince to support Kerry provides positive word-of-mouth for him, and that extends to their family and friends in other states - many of them swing states.

My job requires total neutrality in what I say, do, and wear when I'm with clients. However, shrub's wars have radicalized me to the point where I now have a Kerry-Edwards sticker on my car. Also, while I would never say anything negative about the president to a client, I am more blunt in my assessment of federal departments. It's not just the Pentagon that shrub has screwed up - he's done a number on every other cabinet department as far as I can tell.

23. Irish
Just had good friends get back from anniversary trip to Ireland. Nice folks over there, they said. Once locals struck up conversation and found out they were US citizens, INVARIABLY the next expression out of their mouths was "Bush is a jerk" "I hate Bush" "Get rid of Bush" "I don't like Bush" "Don't vote for Bush" "Get rid of Bush". My friends said these sentiments were offered freely and out of the blue and without inquiry about their party affiliation or about their opinion of Bush.

Just wish they could vote here; but makes me feel good anyway to be trying to get rid of him and help repair our international relations!

Edited on Sun Sep-12-04 10:53 PM by calimary
is wearing that baseball shirt with the photo of John Kerry and John Lennon on the back. When my husband wore that shirt around Santa Monica, doing errands the other day, I swear he was king of the world. People were shaking his hand, giving him high-fives, commenting on the shirt, asking where he got it (from ME! I sent away for it from cafepress.com - check out the Nutopian Embassy therein). That shirt is a HUGE crowd-pleaser, and we've given several of our extras away to people who almost literally flipped for them. That shirt gets a HUGELY great reaction.

By the way, for whatever it's worth, the Westside Democratic Headquarters opened today at 9th and Wilshire - HUGE turnout. It was like a sauna in there, it was so crowded! I was sopping wet by the time I got out of there. FINALLY scored some Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers, too!

Edited on Sun Sep-12-04 11:33 PM by calimary
Henry Waxman came to speak - sigh! My HERO!

Every little bit DOES help.

Just up the street from there is a Krispy Kreme's. The guy behind the counter commented on the Kerry button on my hat and said he was leaning that way in November. I told him he was being true to his nature if he was doing that - because the human heart hangs to the LEFT. It is OUR NATURE to be liberal. And don't you forget it! I'm gonna write one of my columns about that one of these days.

And yes, the John Kerry/John Lennon photo is WUNNNNderful. It gets great, positive reactions EXCLUSIVELY. Never heard a bad word about it. Ever.

Oh, and one more thing: I got the Krispy Kremes for our family's contribution to our annual neighborhood block party. Went up there to say hi to people. One older-middle-aged man introduced himself and shook my hand, and confided that he sided with me, referring to the Kerry button on my hat, but added that he thought the two of us might be kind of alone in our views - at this party. I told him to rethink that, because if you drive from one end of our street to the other, you see Kerry or Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers GALORE, and a few yard signs, too. There are, I think, TWO bush/cheneys (bumper stickers ONLY) - and they're on the next street over. Our street goes roughly two miles up the canyon and it's Kerry by a landslide.
