"Chris Matthews Back in the Spotlight"

NEW YORK (AP) - It certainly can't be a bad thing for a man with a political talk show called "Hardball" to be nearly challenged to a duel by a U.S. senator. MSNBC has quickly moved to take advantage of Sen. Zell Miller's combative GOP convention interview with Chris Matthews, featuring it in advertisements. It was Matthews' second eye-popping exchange with a guest in a month.

Matthews is hot right now, and not just under the collar.

"Hardball" and parts of Matthews' Republican convention coverage gave his network some surprising ratings victories over CNN. The former print reporter whose volume and energy switches never seem off may just be the man to lead MSNBC out of the wilderness.

"Politics is certainly on the top of the minds of people and Chris is the best person on cable doing it," said his boss, NBC News President Neal Shapiro.

5. Best person on cable doing politics?
Umm, how can that be when he's so bipolar? Take a side and sit with it. This bullshit of playing both sides is so old already and makes no sense.

6. HAHAHAHAHA!! Used To Be A Fan! I Won't Be Watching
when he leads MSNBC "out of the wilderness" In the immortal words of Dennis Barbuti in "Get Shorty" upon arriving in LA and being told by the cabby that the pollution makes for good sunsets " What A Bunch Of Fuckin' Bullshit"

7. Tweety "blow in the wind" to the right and left...mostly left, is a pig...
and every time one thinks he might try to be fair, one realizes it's all about "HIM" and his ratings. Suckered in too many times to his "bait and switch deal."

8. Hairball
Critical thinking is not one of Tweets strong points. Hot air, bluster, ego and not much intelligence. He so wants to be one of the movers and shakers, but he will always be in the shadow of the great reporters and he knows it. Hey Chris, the word for the day is sycophant.

9. I used to be a fan of his show
but I haven't seen it in a bit. I'll have to tune in and decide if he can "lead msnbc out of the wilderness". I have to say though out of CNN, FOX and MSNBC I'd have to go with the latter of the three. I can't have the others on for more than a few minutes without laughing at something.
