Phone # for NBC News re: Today
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 07:21 AM by IdaBriggs
(212) 664-4444 For those who want to pass along a comment regarding the "ethics" displayed by the interviewer Matt Lauer. (Katie pretty much tried to call Michael Moore a jerk last week, and he didn't let her get away with it. Their bias is showing BIG TIME.)

Edit to Add: Today@NBC.com <Today@NBC.com> (e-mail address)

3. True - but she has been scripted to do GOP spin of late - and appears
to have less power than I had thought to resist.

Sad.

4. my email...
Dear Matt Lauer,

What a transparent attempt to be a fair interviewer!! You followed the White House's marching orders very well...maybe if Bush gets re-elected, you can be the new Press Secretary...

Why didn't you ask Ms. Bush what she was really doing having lunch with Ms. Kelley...she claims she was in financial trouble but what other reason to talk to a gossip book writer except to spill the beans???

You may have succeeded in pacifying Bush's base but you did an even better job at angering the others...that's what is needed for the homestretch so thank you very much.

6. I've heard that Katie is a Dem
I know the wing nuts call her Katie Communist ( aren't they cute when they try to make up nick names ? ). But I have seen Katie go on the attack against people like MM in a very nasty way. I try to be fair, and not always perceive a bias, but I find it hard to believe anyone would accuse her of leaning Dem in her interviews.

10. Look, when they become multi-millionaires...
from being "news infotainers" they learn real quick that their bread is no longer buttered on the Democratic side. Money does strange things to people's politics and upbringings.

Look at Judas Stephanopolis, look at Russert, look at Cokie Roberts. Look at all the erstwhile Democrats that have become big bucks mega-stars on the disinformation circuit (i.e. TV news) and see how quickly they have become converted to Rethuglicans.

11. As a former long-time, daily viewer of the Today show,
I can tell you she is most certainly not a Democrat. She's one of the Republicans' most sickening, staunchest lapdogs.

One example is when the Reagan library first opened to the public, Katie Couric took a walking tour with Nancy Reagan. They were discussing a display of Pope John Paul when Nancy Reagan made the comment, "Pope John Paul & my husband have a lot in common."

Couric embraced this comment with gushing approval. If it had been a Democratic former first lady making this remark, it would certainly have provoked a scowl.

Here's another example: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=787874#788157
