Is it November Yet? (Election-inspired nightmare)

OK, this is a real dream that I woke up from at about 2:30 am this morning:

I was in some kind of movie in which everyone was fighting a hugely powerful and technologically superior evil force bent on destroying the world. The dream was inconsistent about which world this actually was; it kind of shuttled back and forth between the regular world and a low-tech agrarian type society much like the one in Laurie Marks's Elemental Logic series (http://www.lauriejmarks.com; my partner is reading Earth Logic now). At one point I came across the scene of some kind of battle that had left two naked women's bodies dismembered, one of them with both legs cut off just below the hip, both of them bloody and mangled. Later in the dream I happened across someone who was collecting donations for the army that was supposed to fight this evil force (who inexplicably looked exactly like one of the administrators I work with) and on the spur of the moment I offered her 1,000 of whatever the dream was using as currency, which was all I had. She was surprised at my generosity, and although I wasn't sure that this was the smartest use of my money, since this army was nowehere near as well-equipped as the Big Evil Thing, I went on a rant about how important this was, which included the words, "I mean, this is evil we're fighting here." And then I woke up.

Liza is very good about helping me out when I have dreams like this, even if it's the middle of the night. So I told her all about the dream, and then I said, "So what do you think? Am I worried about the election?"
