The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it NOW deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.

2. Wow!
That just about says it all, doesn't it? It might even make a good ad. I'm blown away.

3. thanks, demotex.... I KNEW that was going to be the quote
another thing that got me was seeing the movie about the Cuban Missile Crisis last year

JFK stood UP to the crazy military freaks and the Dr. Strangeloves on his staff, and kept us from starting WWIII

I read a bunch of stuff about it, and thought I knew what was going on, but the dramatization made it achingly, PAINFULLY clear what a completel loser we have in the WH now.

I couldn't help wondering what would have happened had that freaking lazy HALFWIT been the CINC back then

we wouldn't be here today; you can count on that. We'd be typing this stuff from our caves, if we'd made it through, on some sort of Fred Flinstone, gerbil-powered laptop, though
