Kerry's Key Debate Words: "Pattern", "Spin".....
Nothing like waking up in the morning with ideas about how the first debate should be handled!!!!

This is what my sleeping brain came up with....

1) use the word PATTERN over and over again in referring to Bush's actions....all they way back to the Nat'l Guard issue forward. The PATTERN of lack of responsiblity, lack of engagement, lack of ....etc....

2) The closing statement...look right into the camera and tell Americans that they'll be hearing a lot of SPIN about the debate from pundits...but that they should rely on their own perceptions of the issues and the direction of the country and not be fooled!!! In other words, pre-emptively GO AROUND the media's post-debate spin, which last time out, killed Gore.

Now, back to sleep....

1. A new word came to me: dangerous -- Kerry started on this idea...
this morning on page one of the NY Times, in reference to North Korea. He was furious at the danger Bush has placed us in by ignoring N. Korea, and other truly threatening forces, by putting all our eggs in the Iraq basket.

2. Yes, "dangerous" is a very menacing term.....
"radical" is too broad and abstract, but "dangerous" goes for the emotions, where is where the GOP right is so adept at doing.

Dangerous....Yes, that's a great word to work in, too!

3. "The Bush doctrine sets a dangerous precedent."
The subliminable message is, "Bush is a dangerous president." Powerful because it's true.

"These are dangerous times, and the Bush doctrine has made them even more dangerous by setting dangerous precedents in foreign policy...."
