It's my contention that Kerry will hold every Gore vote. That already puts him up by half a million. I also believe there are many, many disappointed Republicans and Independents who voted Bush last time, deeply regret it now, and will vote Kerry. Further, I do not believe anyone who voted Gore last time will switch to Bush. Therefore, we win.

Please post your anecdotal evidence of people who regret their Bush vote and will definitely vote Kerry this time.

are voting for Bush....I have heard froma few dems I know that may vote for Bush because they have ben brainwashed into thinking that Bush is keeping us safe (no attacks since 911...nevermind that 911 happened under Bush's watch) and that he is decisive in fighting terror (nevermind that we shifted our focus on the war on terror to invade Iraq)...

up is down, down is up!

5. my Brother
...though I doubt he actually got off his lazy ass to vote for Bush.

But, over the last four years, he's gone from being a staunch, stab me in the leg with a fork at Thanksgiving dinner, Texas Aggie Bush/Republican party supporter, to a not so happy

He probably wont vote this year anyway because "he lives in Texas and his vote doesn't matter."

I hate the electoral college so much because of this...it's no wonder our nation has such poor voting turnout...

12. Nooooooooo!
I run up against that all the time, "I live in Texas so because of the electoral college my vote doesn't matter."

Tell him:
1) True, even though the electoral college is around, your vote goes in the popular vote. A big pop. vote will give a good mandate to govern to Pres. Kerry. Also if (shudder) we lose the electoral vote and win the pop. vote AGAIN, I think it will cause a HUGE reaction. (Crosses fingers).

2) There are LOTS of local candidates that NEED YOUR VOTE. Where in Texas does he live? You can help point him to some excellent local races.

8. My nephew
46 years old, white, veteran, strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment. Has always voted Republican since coming of voting age but now will not only vote for Kerry (ABB) but states his new opinion to those he works with and other associates. This was not due to any influence from me. It is because of what he feels Bush has done in taking us to war in Iraq and many other policies of this administration.

10. I've met many...
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 04:38 PM by sfecap
The guy I flew with last month, the couple I sat next to at a restaurant a couple of nights ago, co-workers (republican/former military) who are very pissed about the Iraq mess and the treatment of the military and veterans...

Don't believe what you hear from the pundits...they are not in touch with the people!

I have not met one Dem who is voting for the idiot...

11. At least 4
I know 4 voters who voted for Bush who won't do it again. I'm only sure that one of them will vote for Kerry, but I suspect that two more will vote for Kerry, if not all 4 of them.

I've yet to meet anyone who voted for Gore who'll vote for *.

14. I finally found one
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 04:53 PM by WI_DEM
a lady at work who said that she voted for Gore in 2000 but is voting for Bush because "Kerry is wishy-washy." She also stated that she doesn't understand how he can attack Bush on Iraq when "he voted with the president to send troops into Iraq."

That's my example.

Other than that most people who I know who voted for Gore will be voting for Kerry and a few people I know who voted for Nader will also vote for Kerry.

15. Sounds like another satisfied Fox viewer
Point out to her that she is going to lose her overtime pay and her son is going to get drafted. Usually works for me. Again, we Dems only need arm ourselves with the truth.
